ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL HOTEL PROJECT FOR BASSETTS’ COMMERCIAL DIVISION… SANITARYWARE SUPPLIER
B assetts’ Commercial Sanitaryware division engaged its long-standing relationships with top sanitaryware manufacturers to ensure a smooth and timely supply of products to the Haslem Hotel project. Converted from an existing retail building, the 45-bedroom Haslem Hotel is Lisburn’s first city centre hotel. Bassetts supplied the sanitaryware for all of the bedrooms and public areas. Products had already been specified by the Consultant Engineer from Bassetts’ main sanitaryware manufacturers: Ideal Standard, Grohe, Aqualla and Flair and so Bassetts concentrated on ensuring stock was available when needed. With 30 years of expertise obtained at Bassetts, Nigel Smyth, Commercial Sanitaryware Manager, provided the cool head and knowledge needed to ensure a seamless service.
“We worked out a time-scale programme with the mechanical contractor, Hanna Mechanical Services, and co-ordinated our supplies for when they were needed. There will always be a certain type of product that needs to be installed first, for example, shower trays. Shower doors, on the other hand, would be the finishing touches. “We know what’s needed in the first fix, the second fix and the finishing touches. We liaise with the mechanical contractor to make sure that the products are available in his time frame.” The project with Hanna Mechanical was supplied smoothly and on time. “It was a great project for Bassetts to be involved with,” says Nigel, “with a good mix of products from our suppliers. “We’ve always enjoyed a very good working relationship with Hanna Mechanical. They’re very easy to work with.”
