MERCHANT SUPPORT FROM START TO FINISH AT MACBLAIR ANTRIM… The complete builddestination
M acBlair Antrim’s plumbing and heating business has been a mainstay for the branch over the past decade showing continual growth and customer satisfaction. With the emphasis on staff training the sales counter team is perfectly qualified to provide in-depth customer advice and service to cover the extensive stock range. David Gill, Branch Manager says, “There’s a broad knowledge base here that, combined with the scale of our site, allows us the ability to hold a wide range of products, from boilers right through to fittings etc. We introduced the Navien gas boiler range last year which has seen a really strong uptake.” The goal at MacBlair Antrim is to be regarded as a genuine one-stop destination for their trade customers. “Our existing customer base finds it easy and convenient to use our plumbing and heating counter while they’re coming here to get other building products. “Our purpose is to complete the product offering from the start of the build process to completion,” says David. “From the loose aggregates yard and
the mortar offering available at our builders merchant right through to boilers and fittings stocked at the Watershed Bathroom and Tiles, MacBlair Antrim is capable of serving our trade customers from start to finish.” MacBlair Antrim’s generous three-acre site provides the scale to stock an enormous range of products. This facility has ensured they have been quick to respond to changes in the market environment. “We’re in a position to substantially increase our stockholding when we need to, so we can be relied on to provide continuity of supply - a hot topic at the moment. We’ve been sheltered from supply issues by strategically increasing stock in certain product types and having the scale to hold them on site.” However, having the scale to stock large product lines and introduce new stock means nothing if you don’t have the highly skilled and knowledgeable staff to
provide the service to customers. That’s why David places such emphasis on staff training and development at the Antrim branch. The branch prides itself on listening to the needs of its trade customer base and responding to requests for extra services or facilities, such as the loose aggregate and ready-made mortar silo. It pays to do so, as the uptake on this new installation has been excellent, says David. “We got strong feedback from our customers that they would like this facility and it has worked out really well. It’s something we will continue to develop.”
