than the things you have mentioned. As we open the doors of the FIRST CHURCH, I read, Evangelists, pas tors, apostles, saints, teachers, unity, and faith. The inside of this church reminds me of the words found in Ephesians 4:11-13. As I read this text, you will notice that the words on the inside of this FIRST CHURCH are found in the Scripture. Nov. 15, 1953 C h r is t ia n s a n d C a n s OBJECTS: Two two-pound baking pow der cans, a potted plant and a map of Palestine. (Secure a small funnel, and trim the bowl of it to fit the mouth of one of the cans. Solder it into the can near the top. This arrangement

I am glad that we do not have to leave this lesson with such a sad pic ture. I hold in my hand a red sticker on which is printed the word CHRIST. I am going to stick it over the U and N of the word UNHAPPY. We now read, HAPPY HOME. When the blood of Christ covers and seals the sins of the past, the most UN HAPPY HOME can become changed into a HAPPY HOME. Christ brought happiness to the home of Mary and Martha, just as He brings it to those in the day in which we live. Nov. 8, 1953 A T r u e S t o r y OBJECTS: Two paper doors. (Make the doors by using a piece of paper 7x 11 inches, or larger if necessary. Fold in the middle, making the size 7 x 5 lA inches. Open and fold each end to within (4 inch of the middle, making the size 7 x 5% inches. These flaps, when closed, can be lined to represent doors. There will be an opening be tween them of V 2 inch. In this open ing print, FIRST CHURCH, begin ning near the top and ending near the bottom. Open the doors and write the following words, using the letters of the words FIRST CHURCH, in the order in which they appear: “PER FECTING, EVANGELISTS, MINIS TRY, APOSTLES, SAINTS, TEACH ERS, PROPHETS, UNITY, PASTORS, CHRIST, and FAITH.) LESSON: Between these doors, ajar, we read, FIRST CHURCH. It reminds me of the first church at Jerusalem, about which we read in Acts 2.

OBJECTS: A piece of paper, 8 x 11 inches, 6 leaves from a small calendar and a sticker, colored red. (Fold each end of the sheet of paper to within SJ inch of the middle, which leaves a space 14 inch wide down the center. In this space, print the words UN HAPPY HOME, beginning near the top and ending near the bottom. On the folded left flap, near the top, write the word TIME. In the similar position on the right flap, print the

word TELLS. Open and write these words also on the inside of the flaps. Using the letters in the words UN HAPPY HOME, complete the follow ing words: “QUARRET.ING, SEL FISHNESS, WHISKY, DANCING, COMPLAINING, PRIDE, LYING, FIGHTING, SHOWS, SMOKING and SWEARING. Paste the leaves from the calendar on the inside of each flap, beneath the emphasized words TIME and TELLS. Fold the flaps back on the center before beginning the lesson.) LESSON: On this sheet of paper there are many undesirable things written. It is sad but true that there are many homes where some or all of these con ditions are found. In many cases those who live there are blinded and think they are getting the most out of life. However, time will tell, and before life ends, they come to realize that they are cheated out of life’s best. As I open the side flaps, we read TIME TELLS. Beneath these words we see leaves from calendars, suggest ing the passing of days, weeks, months and years. Let us fold them over these sad words, and see what happens. We now read, UNHAPPY HOME. No matter how much fun the unsaved think they are getting out of life, time will tell that their home is unhappy. 48

allows water to enter the can, but keeps it from coming out when the can is turned upside down.) LESSON: Did you know that Christians are like cans? At least they are like these two which I brought with me this morning. I have called these cans Kate and Carl, because they remind me of people. They are like certain Christians. You are wondering how these cans can be like Christians. I will show you. I give each a glass of water, and then see why I have given them hu man names. They both receive the water. Kate gives this thirsty plant a drink, but Carl refuses. (Tilt the can with the mouth away from the audi ence, so that the funnel will not be seen.) He believes in keeping everything he gets for himself. Some Christians, like Carl, seem to think that it is all right to keep all the blessings God gives them, never passing them on to others. Other Christians, like Kate pass their blessings on to others, THE KING'S BUSINESS
