From Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday Growing Stronger in Faith

April is an exciting month for many reasons. With spring in full swing, many people are looking forward to warmer weather, but most importantly, this is the time we celebrate Easter. For the past few months, we’ve been preparing ourselves for this important holiday. As many of you know, the Easter season begins with Lent, which actually starts on Ash Wednesday, several weeks before Easter Sunday. Ash Wednesday is a crucial part of the Lenten season because, as we receive the cross of ashes on our foreheads, we are reminded that we are dust and to dust we shall return. We can also use the time we otherwise would have spent indulging in whatever we give up for Lent as a way to spend more time connecting with God through prayer. By the time Easter Sunday arrives on April 12, we’ll all feel a little closer to God and more connected to our faith. As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, we too have the opportunity to start fresh and live the rest of the year as better versions of ourselves.

For 40 days, we spend our time repenting and building on our faith until we come to Good Friday. When this newsletter comes out, we’ll probably be in the middle of Lent, and we’ll still have to wait a little while before Good Friday, but I think it’s important to think about now because of what it represents. On Good Friday, we observe the crucifixion and sacrifice of Jesus, which was a means to offer forgiveness for all our misdeeds in life. What I find most
