A new cigar from Foundation is always a cause for excitement. However, with the announcement of the new Wise Man blends being made at My Father, it was a bit of a double edge sword. While I am ecstatic for this new collaboration, that does mean the end of one of my favorite cigars of all time, the original El Güegüense. This was Nick's first blend under the Foundation banner, and even a decade later it still ranks among my top cigars of all time. Its incredible flavor profile, complex transitions and top tier construction have been consistent in every cigar I've smoked. While it may be on its way out, I plan to stock up on these so I can enjoy them for years to come. My reliable go-to-smoke has always been Rocky Patel's Vintage 99. No matter the occasion or time of day, it checks all the boxes. A premium smoke, it pairs easily with just about any drink of choice due to its creamy vanilla and spiced notes. The cigar burns nicely with minimal, if any, touch-ups, and has a smooth and consistent draw from start to finish. Whether you're sharing a smoke with friends, family or setting aside a moment for "me" time, you can't go wrong with this one. With summer underway, I tend to enjoy smoking a cigar in the Churchill size. It awards me more time outside spent under the sun or poolside relishing the summer ambiance. One of my go-to summertime cigars is the Ferio Tego Metropolitan Host in the 7 x 50 “Hampton” size. Cloaked in a Connecticut wrapper featuring a core of tobacco from Honduras as the binder and filler, the offering is a flavorful and unforgettable smoking experience. If you're seeking a smooth cigar with notes of sweet spice, cocoa, and floral tones, the Ferio Tego Metropolitan Host is the one for you! Summertime smoking to me means finding a nice full-bodied cigar to pair with my cappuccino to start my day, and the Foundation Olmec Maduro does just that. This cigar was made to honor the Olmec Civilization that thrived in the regions of San Andres Tuxtla, Veracruz, and Tabasco, which is where some of the best cigar wrappers are grown. After three years of aging the filler tobacco, the Foundation Cigar Company has provided us with flavor notes of cacao, dark espresso, and spice to top it off. If you’re looking for something strong to go with that cappuccino, put the Foundation Olmec Maduro in your smoking rotation.
