PCA ROUND-UP
Over the past few years, we as an industry have seen the growth of collaborations between celebrities and manufacturers. This was evident at the show with the likes of: Guy Fieri with Knuckle Sandwich by Espinosa, James Hetfield with Blackened by Drew Estate, and Mike Tyson with Tyson 2.0 by Gurkha. What I like about these pairings of celebrity and cigar is that everyone involved seems to truly enjoy the end result. This isn’t just another promo gig or obligation for them. They appreciate cigars and are an actual part of our community. With the opportunity to hit the show floor as a buyer for JR, I was excited to check out all the new offerings and look for great additions to the JR portfolio. First stop on my journey was Altadis U.S.A.'s booth, where a crowd had already gathered. One of AUSA’s showstoppers was their partnership with luxury hat maker, Wild Hats. To help celebrate H. Upmann’s 180th Anniversary cigar, those who made qualifying show orders were able to receive a custom-made H. Upmann cowboy/fedora hat which was made right on the show floor. While visiting their booth, I was lucky enough to try the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edición Doble Diamante. This was everything you’d expect
