As an evangelical Christian inst itution, Biola University requires that an applicant has been a Christian for at least one year prior to admission. Biola does not discrimi­ nate on the basis of the applicant 's race, color, sex, handicap, or national or ethnic origin. Persons interested in attending Rosemead should request application

(6) Appear for a personal inter­ view with the Admissions Committee or its representative. Arrangements are made by the committee following a preliminary screening of appli ca­ tions. Only those who are finalists in Rosemead's admissions procedure , determined by the preliminary screen­ ing, will be scheduled for a personal interview. For finalists from the ge n­ eral Southern Ca lifornia area, inter­ views are held on campus at La Mirada. Arrangements will be made by the chairperson of the Rosemead Admission Committee for those out­ side the Southern California area. Interviews are conducted in a number of cities throughout the country, gen­ erally between January 15 and Febru­ ary 28. Anon-refundable fee of $75 is due and payable following arrange­ ments for the interview. It is the responsibility of the appli­ cant to make sure that all application materials have been received. As in most graduate programs in psy­ chology, competition is keen and enrol~ ment is limited. In order to be admiued to full graduate standing the applicant must comply with the following: ( 1) Possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with an average grade of at least "B" for the junior and sen io r years, i.e., 3.0 an a 4.0 scale. (2) Present an undergraduate program with either a major in psy­ chology or its functional equivalent (30 semester hours of credit in psy­ chology). This should include at least one course in: General (introductory) psychology; statistical methods; exper­ imental psychology; abnormal psy­ chology; theories of personality; and learning. Developmental psychology is an admissions requirement. If stu­ dents have not taken the course before they are admitted into the pro­ gram, they must take it at the under­ graduate or graduate level before completion of the doctoral program. Also strongl y recommended are courses in measurement theory, his-­ tory of psychology; physiological psy­ chology or a year of biology/ zoology. If possible, undergraduate courses in Old and New Testament survey and hermeneutics will strengthen the stu­ dent's preparation for Rosemead. (3) Submit scores on the Gradu­ ate Record Examination Aptitude Test and Psychology Advanced Test. Information regarding testing dates and location may be obtained by writ­ ing to the Educational Testing Ser­ vice, Box 955, Princeton, New Jersey 08540. No applicant is exempt from submitting GR£ scores which must be received prior to the deadline date of January 15. (4) Submit completed profile (not answer sheet) of the Minnesota Multi­ phasic Personality Inventory (MMPl). This test should be taken at a college testing service or from a licensed psy­ chologist. Since this test material is confidential, Rosemead will not make copies of tests sent for admission pur­ poses at any time. App li cants are referred to the agency from which the testing was administered if they desire a clinical interpretation. (5) Submit live letters of recom­ mendation on forms supplied by the school. Graduate psychology students meeting all entrance requirements will be classified as regular graduate students. Students who do not fulfill all entrance requirements may be admitted on a provisional status until they correct the deficiency. Any such deficiencies must be removed within one calendar year of a student's admission as a provisional student. It is only in rare instances that a student will be accepted on provisional status. Students will be classified in the program as follows: First year 30 graduate units or less completed Second year 60 graduate units or less completed Third year 90 graduate uni ts or less completed Fourth year 120 graduate units or less completed Fifth year Class work complete and internship in progress Dissertation All requirements met (ABD) except for dissertation. Grading System Students wishing to obtain a grad­ uate degree must maintain a consis-­ tently high academic performance throughout their program. An overall B average, i.e. , 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, is required for all degrees. Only grades of "A," "B," "C" earn graduate credit. Grades of all stud en ts are recorded in the registrar ' s office. Students who register for a class but do not attend it are auto­ matically given the grade of "UW" which will influence the grade average the same as an ''F." Atemporary mark of "RD" (Report Delayed) will be used in special cases of extreme hardship where an extension

Since enrollment is limited and admission is on a selective basis, applica­ tions should be made as early as poss~ ble. The application deadline is January 15. Decisions are made only on com­ pleted applications. Rosemead currently admits new students for the degree pro­ grams only in the fall semester each year. Applications submitted after the January 15 deadline will rarely be consid­ ered for the following fall semester. Notice of Decisions The Admissions Committee will process applications as quickly as pos-­ sible following the January 15 dead­ line, though time must be allowed for completion of personal interviews . Certificates of Acceptance will be mailed on or before April I. Informa­ tion concerning the status of an appli­ cation will not be given except by let­ ter from the dean following action by the Admissions Committee. Because of the large number of applicants, information cannot be given by te le­ phone. In the event that an applicant has not heard from the committee by May I, written inquiry may be made.
