OBJECTIVES The Master of Arts degree, with em phases in Bible Exposition, New Testament, Old Testament, Theology, Specialized Ministries, Women's Ministries, and Biblical and Theological Studies-Diversified (non-lan guage), has been developed for those whose calling to Christian service is to positions of leadership for which the Master of Divinity or other professional degrees are not nor mally required. It is structured to provide: 1. An understanding of Scriptures for stu dents anticipating Christian ministries that would include church administra tors, parachurch organization leader ship, counselors, "tent-making" occupa tions in other cultures, lay leaders in the local church and others. 2. A biblical background for those who are preparing for teaching in non-theo logical fields. 3. An academic background for those who find the Master of Arts degree ample for a teaching position either at home or in a foreign country. 4. A program of study for missionaries who have only a brief furlough time in which to pursue formal study of the Scriptures. 5. Sustainable skills in specific ministries further developing your abilities and spiritual gifs, and strengthening your areas of weakness ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Applicants must possess a baccalaureate degree. Each should be a graduate from a rec ognized or accredited college with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). All applicants must submit a written statement outlining their vocational objec tives and how the degree might relate to those objectives. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS A. Satisfactorily complete 64-66 semester units as outlined in the curriculum charts below. B. Submit an acceptable thesis, chosen in consultation with the major advisor, or at the option of the major advisor and in lieu of the thesis, complete four addition al units of electives. Students who write a thesis will have a total requirement of 64 units and those who take two addi tional units in lieu of a thesis will have a total requirement of 66 units. C. At least 24 units must be taken at this seminary. D. Obtain a 3.0 average with no grade below a "C-" in all courses to be credited toward graduation.
E. Complete the entire program in no more than five years. Students are placed on academic proba tion if their grade point average for any semester falls below 3.0 and will remain on probation as long as the single semester or cumulative grade point average remains below 3.0. Probation students are granted one semester in which to bring their aca demic work up to the required level (3.0) for continuance in the seminary. A student cannot graduate while on probation.

EMPHASES REQUIREMENTS Program Structure
The academic programs leading to the degree Master of Arts with emphases in Bible Exposition, New Testament, Old Testament, Specialized Ministries, Theology, Women's Ministries, or Biblical and Theological Studies-Diversified are comprised of 64-66 units structured in com mon to include 1) biblical and theological foundations, 2) academic specialization in one of four disciplines requiring biblical lan guage studies, or general studies in which biblical languages are not required, and 3) additional elective courses determined by the student in consultation with the advisor. Program Reduction Based on Prior Academic Study Applicants who have taken undergraduate courses in biblical or theological studies may re quest a program reduction based on collegiate work. An evaluation will be made by the regis trar's office following established guidelines to determine competencywithin the following perimeters: 1) undergraduate biblical studies which are parallel in content with required courses and 2) undergraduate biblical studies which may justify a reduction in elective units. On this basis the 64-66 unit program may be re duced by as much as 30 units, so that certain qualified applicants may earn the Master of Arts with a minimum 34-36 unit program.
