The completion of the general educa­ tion requirements including: Writing Competency - met by com­ pletion of the written version of the Senior Thesis; Communication - Completion of competency in oral presentation/com­ munication as evidenced by course or Credit for Prior Learning (CPL); Composition Competency - in the English language as evidenced by six units of course work and/or CPL. Two of the requirements in the following three areas may be met by courses in the BOLD program. OBJECTIVES Biola University, through the School of Continuing Studies, offers a major in Organizational Leadership to adult students who are returning to complete their under­ graduate degree. The Organizational Leadership major of­ fers students upper-division course work designed especially for adults who wish to earn a degree while working full time. Course work is aimed at development of skills in human relations and management to work more effectively as managers and in other roles. A supplementary publication provides more detailed information on this program. For more information, contact the Office of Continuing Studies, Biola University. DEGREE OFFERED A Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership is offered upon the completion of the university baccalaureate requirements and the Organizational Leadership major. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS An applicant to the Organizational Leader­ ship program must be at least 25 yearsof age and have 60 semester hours of transferable college credit from accredited institutions. These units can include College Level Exami­ nations Program (CLEP) and Advanced Placement (AP) units. An application form must be completed and the application fee paid. The completion of references and offi­ cial transcripts from each institution previous­ ly attended must be sent to the School of Continuing Studies, Biola University. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Graduation with the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Biola University with a major in Organizational Leadership is de­ pendent upon satisfactory completion of the following: A. A minimum of 130 semester units of credit for graduation. B. The completion of the Biola Organizational Leadership (BOLD) program at Biola University. C. A "C" average (or a 2.00 G.PA) or above

CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING Undergraduate students working for a de­ gree in Organizational Leadership have the opportunity to earn elective credit toward graduation through the e_valuation of prior learning acquired outside an institution of higher learning. Credit is awarded only after a student's record has been carefully weighed by the faculty of the University. SENIOR THESIS Each student will complete a Senior Thesis which will emphasize work or com­ munity related reseach on a real problem or opportunity for that organization . The stu­ dent will develop writing, oral presentation, and research skills, along with the new knowledge and perspective they gain in the topic of their Thesis. The Senior Thesis is completed over about a 15-month period while the courses are being completed. COURSES ORI.D 210Biblical Concepts Seminar I (1) This seminar will introduce the concept of integration of faith, learning and living to help students come to a more accurate un­ derstanding of reality. The course will em­ phasize the importance of thinking Christianly in order to equip students to an­ alyze issues and effect solutions to prob­ lems that are workable, intellectually viable and consistent with biblical truth. ORLD 220 Symposium I (1) This course will provide an opportunity to apply the understanding arrived at through integration to real life situations·. Students will examine case studies taken from group and organizational behavior that demonstrate both the method and difficulties of integra­ tion and application. Students, throughout the course, will be encouraged to apply the principles of integration to their own experi­ ence in order to develop a mindset of think­ ing Christianly as an essential component of their life and education.
