MY DAD, MY HERO A Tribute to All Fathers
More importantly, my dad taught me the value of doing right by our customers. In his line of work, he’s always willing to recommend a product and even tell customers where they can find it cheaper. While this might mean missing out on a sale, his honesty builds trust and keeps customers coming back. His integrity has shown me that being trustworthy is crucial. At Moxie, we treat our customers and the community with the same principle: They always come first. Dads come in all shapes and sizes, and their official title isn’t always “dad” — sometimes they’re an uncle, grandpa, older brother, mentor, or coach. This Father’s Day, and every day, we celebrate them. So, to all the incredible dads out there, Happy Father’s Day. Enjoy your day, kick back, and relax with your family and favorite meal. You deserve it! –Austin Clark PSA — It’s hot out there! While the first official day of summer isn’t until June 20, we are still roasting here in Phoenix and surrounding areas! Don’t forget to hydrate, wear sunscreen, and take crucial steps to stay safe and cool!
My dad is my hero, and there’s nothing quite like a dad. For a boy, a father plays a monumental role in his life. He’s not just a role model but a friend, guide, and the person you admire most. With your dad by your side, you create countless memories and learn invaluable lessons. He’s the man you aspire to become. My dad taught me all I know about the things that matter the most — like treating people well, being honest and transparent, and taking care of others. He instilled in me good morals and ethics — he showed me how to be a good person.
When I think about my dad and my childhood, I remember how he always made time for me. He was present, constantly introducing my brother and me to fun and adventurous activities. Whether we were hunting, rock climbing, camping, or embarking on some new adventure, he made life exciting. While part of it was to give my mom a break, his main goal was for us to experience nature and the world, learning lessons that would last a lifetime. And I must say, he really accomplished that! Professionally, he made quite an impact on me. My dad is a sales representative for a safety company, so
safety has always been a top priority for him. His emphasis on awareness and keeping everyone’s best interests at heart have significantly influenced my own views, especially regarding its importance at Moxie. Thanks to him, our drivers and technicians are thoroughly trained and educated on safety practices, ensuring we uphold the same high standards he values.

The Wondrous Properties of Hot Water
ENHANCED WEIGHT LOSS While many know that drinking enough can make you feel full, it may actually do much more, depending on the temperature of the water and when you drink it. Research shows that drinking water can increase your metabolic rate and daily energy expenditure, which helps you burn calories and lose weight. If you want to lose weight, try drinking some hot water before your meal. Studies also show that drinking hot water 30–40 minutes before you eat can increase your metabolism by 40%, compared to just 30% from drinking room-temperature water! Additionally, researchers recommend drinking 2 liters of water, heated to at least 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, to kickstart your energy expenditure throughout the day. CLEANSE YOUR SYSTEM One of the first side effects of drinking hot water is increased body temperature, which can lead to sweating and natural detoxification. Additionally, drinking hot water aids in preventing constipation, bloating, and hemorrhoids and helps break down food faster than cold water. If you want to lose weight or partake in some natural detoxification, it may be time to incorporate some hot water into your diet. It may be a hot take, but science suggests that ditching soft drinks for some heated H2O will benefit your health!
We are aware that water drinkers consume fewer calories than nonwater drinkers, and the link between consuming sweetened beverages and obesity attests to this. Beverage brands may boast the supposedly remarkable attributes of their energy drink and mineral water brands, but none can beat the benefits of water — and there’s research to prove it. Water is necessary to keep our bodies functioning, and drinking enough is essential to live healthily and reach our full fitness potential. However, a new development shows that it is possible to unlock even more of water’s potential — by drinking it hot! PEST OF THE MONTH Rodent Control 101

From Renovation to Instagram Sensation — Alissa’s Inspiring Journey
Are you ready for a cool influencer success story?
Seven years ago, Alissa Schow and her family relocated from Idaho to Arizona. They purchased an outdated home and renovated it project by project. They worked to upgrade the flooring, countertops, bathrooms, and tiles and even went the extra mile and added glass features. Alissa documented these projects on her Instagram account @home.and.chaos. After completing the renovations, she quickly realized she needed to learn how to properly care for and clean everything to maintain its new look. Drawing on her grandma’s wisdom, she began using household products like baking soda, vinegar, and dish soap. Now, she shares her cleaning tips and tricks with her growing number of followers to help them keep their homes looking fresh and clean. Alissa is a proud mother of four children. Two are at home, while the other two are currently on missions abroad: her daughter in Paraguay and her son in the Marshall Islands. She enjoys playing pickleball, working out, watching movies with a bowl of popcorn, and taking her active boys to basketball games.
Rodents — what a pain in the butt!
While rats and other rodents are not a huge issue in Arizona, they can still be a nuisance from time to time. Common types of rodents in our area include the Norway rat, roof rat, house mouse, and pack rat. Effective rodent control starts with proper identification and understanding of their behavior. To identify a rodent problem, look for signs such as gnaw marks, droppings, tracks, rub marks, and burrows. Cleanliness is crucial in controlling rodent populations. Water, pet food, and other materials that provide shelter and harborage must be removed. This includes clearing clutter and sealing entry points. Moxie Pest Control offers various preventive measures and solutions to address rodent issues. Our team is equipped with the knowledge and tools to identify and eliminate rodent problems efficiently. We provide thorough inspections, sanitation advice, and rodent-proofing services to ensure your home remains rodent-free!
