Elective. TH 729 THE THEOLOGY OF THE GOSPELS (2) An examinatio n of the theological teaching ofJesus as record ed in the four Gospel narratives. This study seeks to examine the motives, aims and methods of mission from both the H ebrew Bible and the New Testament. TH 802 MILLENNIAL VIEWS (2) A careful and intensive study of the three main eschatological views relat ive to the mill ennium; th e hi storical and bibli cal strength of the premillennial system; con­ sideration of the leading amill ennial writ­ ings. A detail ed analysis of the four posi­ tions relative to the time of the rapture; a bibli cal and th eological defense of the pre­ tribulational view, with exegesis o f cru cial

TH 717 THEOLOGY OF HUMAN NATURE (2) Exploration of key areas relating to the narure of man from both a theological and psychological perspective; the biblical nature of man in comparison to teaching theories of human development. The meaning and significance of man created in the image of God; nature and dynamics of sin which lead to sins or psychological maladjustments; practical application of the above concepts to the areas of personal growth and disciple, education and child rearing and church min­ istry. Team taught by facul ty with strength in theology and psychology. Prerequisite: TH 603, or equivalent. Required of reduced M.A.C.E. students. Elective. TH 718 THEOLOGY OF CHRISTIAN NURTURE (2) Designed for the student with back­ ground in the biblical and theological knowl­ edge of soteriology. Consideration of the nature of personal transformation in regen­ eration, the means and dynamics of nurture including the relation of cognitive and rela­ tional aspects. Examination of the nature of spiritual maturity and its relation to psycho­ logical maturity and hindrances to growth. Team taught by faculty with strength in the­ ology and psychology. Prerequi site:TH 603 or equival ent. Required of reduced M.A.C.E. students. Elective. TH 720 THE THEOLOGY AND PRACTICE OF PRAYER (2) A study of th e bibli cal theology of prayer including its meaning, purpose and practice. Elective. TH 724 ESCHATOLOGICAL PROBLEMS (2) Typical exegetical and doctrinal prob­ lems in th e area of Bibl e prophecy. Lectures, assigned probl ems with written and classroom reports, discussion and library research. Elective. TH 725 THE DISPENSATIONAL SYSTEM (2) An intensi ve study of that system of biblical interpretation known as dispensa­ tionalism; its historical background, mod­ ern form and objections. Emphasizing pri­ mary theological and exege tical issues or disagreement between di spensa tional and non-dispensationa l positions. Elective.

TH 891-892 RESEARCH SEMINAR (3,2)

Discussion and application of the cen­ tra l areas of th eology research and related fi elds o f study. Instruction in research methodology, including the identificati o n of a probl em, th e steps taken to resolve it and wri ting the results. Required for the first semester of the T h.M. (TH ) program. A second semes ter may be taken to contin­ ue research in the area o f interest.
