The minister is faced with cross -cultural challenges in the community and congregation , is expected co provide a degree of mission v ision to the co ngrega­ tion , and will likel y recruit people for missions . T'he missionary needs cross-cultural training along with rheo logical trainin g. The church needs a true v is ion for evangelism and worldwide mis­ sion. The program o f this depart­ ment is designed to provide such training based on Biblical princi­ ples that have been proven valu­ able in crosscultural ministr y, missions and human services. Any Talbot student may take elective courses throu g h the School of lntercu ltural Studies. Stlldents in the Master of Divinity or Master of Theology prog rams with a major in missions are requ ired to take CL 503 or 702 , 507 or 640, 520 or 622, 560 or 73.'i, 727, 751, 791, 792. Srndenrs in the Master of Divinity program in Urban/M ulri-Echnic Ministries are required to cake CL 50.'\ or 702, 520 or 622, 5:'\ I , and 560. Srndents in the Master of tvliniscrv program with an emphasis in missions, are required co rake CL 507 or 640, 546, 727, and 751. Stlldenr:; should plan to cake CL 507 or 640 as early in their study program as possible. Missions majors should plan co take as many electives as possi­ ble from the co urses listed below.
