At Biola, pre-law students have chosen from a va riety of majors since many law schools look fo r di versity in the back­ gro und s of th e ir stude nts. PRE-SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY & PRE-AUDIOLOGY

A student wishing to rre rare for a caree r as a Speech-Lan­ guage Pathologist or Audiologist should choose the Communi­ cati on Disorde rs major in the Departme nt of Commun ica­ ti ons. Coursework in chi s major fo ll ows the guidelines of the Ame rican Sr eech-Language-Hea ring Assoc iation (ASHA) and rrovides students with an unde rstanding of both normal com­ muni ca ti on rrocesses as we ll as communicati on disorders. Students have the oprortunicy co begin the ir clinical training in the on-camrus Biola Speech & Language C linic which pro­ vides speech-language assessment and treatment for members of the loca l community in a carefull y surervised setting. Stu­ dents who compl ete thi s major are pre r ared for the graduate studies necessary co obtain rrofessional credentials. T he Communi ca ti on Di so rd e rs major at Biola Uni ver­ sity is a member of th e Counc il of Academi c Programs in Communicati on Sc ie nces and Di sorders and th e N ationa l Academy of Prerrofess iona l Programs in Communica ti on Scie nces and Disorders.
