In loving memory of Marilyn Jean Heiman 1946 - 2005
We dedicate th is catalog to Marilyn Heiman in memory of her more than thirty years of service to Biola University. Marilyn served diligently as Manager of Catalog and Curriculum Services, and was responsible for managing the content of the university catalog and all degree programs. Even though she was in much pain, she contin ued to be at her desk day after day until the very end. Marilyn went to be with her Lord on February 13, 2005, with much peace and dignity, after struggling with an auto immune disease and many other medical problems for more than eight years. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her Lord and for others, her commitment to Biola University, especially to the students, and also for her wonderful sense of humor. Her quick wit and humor were her constant companions through life and were a particular help as she encountered serious health issues. Marilyn's favorite scripture verse was II Timothy 1 :7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of a sound mind:' Marilyn served her Lord and Savior following these principles.
