SOME SOLUTIONS TO STORM WATER POLLUTION LIMIT YOUR USE OF FERTILIZERS AND PESTICIDES : Do a soil test to see if you need a fertilizer-do not apply fertilizers if heavy rain is predicted-look into natural alternatives for pesticides-Follow the instructions on the labels for fertilizers and pesticides. CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PET : Dispose of animal waste properly, wrapped and in a trash bag or unwrapped and down the toilet- do not dispose of animal waste into a storm sewer! PROPERLY USE AND DISPOSE OF HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS: Some examples of Hazardous products are: household and commercial cleaning products, lawn, and garden care products, motor oil, anti-freeze, paints, and stains. Follow the instructions on the products label for proper use and disposal. Use natural or less toxic alternatives when possible. DISPOSE OF YARD WASTE PROPERLY : Leaves can be used for your own composting or brought to the Compost Center on Coles Mill Road.

Form of government The Township is governed according to the state law entitled NJSA 40A:63 “Townships.” This law specifies the organization, powers, responsibilities, and limits of the township government. The Township is governed by a five-person Township Committee. The Committee members are elected at large for three-year staggered terms. The Township Committee is responsible for governing the township, including all policy decisions, adoption of the annual budget and setting of the municipal tax rate. The Committee also enacts ordinances and resolutions (local laws), establishes zoning districts and land use regulations and appoints Township Boards, Commissions and Task Forces. In this form of government, the mayor is not elected at large but rather from amongst the elected Township Committee. There are two major functions of any local government: legislative (Policy making) and executive (administration). In this specific form of government, the Township Committee is the policy making body with the mayor serving as the Chief Executive Officer. The mayor, with advice and consent of the Committee, appoints various municipal officials to administer Register to vote, Marriage license, Certified copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates (which occur in the Township), Dog licenses, Yard sale permits, Township records, Township recreation information, Board of Health, Open Public Records Requests.
