NINE-HOLE DESTINATIONS
Kambaku and Leopard Creek when it stops at Malelane station. These are the two No 1 courses in South Africa, a rare simultaneous accomplishment for this community. The club has attracted several celebrity members, and the reigning club champion is cricket legend Jacques Kallis. Kambaku, with fewer resources, can pride itself on its immaculate conditioning. Well-covered, tightly knit cynodon fairways which extend right up to the bush line, the main hazard golfers face. There’s only one water hazard on the course, guarding three sides of the green at a short par 4 newly built on the banks of the Crocodile River. It’s both 8 & 17, and the raised tee is 65 metres long. Kambaku scored 51/60 in ranking points, one more than Bosch Hoek. The key difference between them was the Innovation criteria, where Kambaku scored 9.5 to Bosch Hoek’s 6.5.
