Alliance (GRCA), it took that reputation to the next level. One of the proof points of that reputation came in the fall of 2017 when Deb Heffner, the Business Outreach Direc- tor for GRCA was elected to the Board of Directors of the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC). IAMC is the leading trade association for corporate real estate execu- tives focused on an industrial portfolio. Deb is one of only two economic developers who serve on the Board of this in- ternational organization. IAMC, a highly influential

professional association, was founded in 2002 and boasts 600-plus members, including real estate professionals for large manufacturing compa- nies, site selectors, develop- ers, and industrial real estate brokers. It counts profession- als from a variety of large industrial firms such as Air Products and Chemicals, An- derson, BASF, Bimbo, Corn- ing, General Mills, Honda of America Manufacturing, Johnson & Johnson Pharma- ceuticals Group, Kohler, NFI Industries, Penske, PepsiCo, Sonoco, Thermo Fisher, Wey-

Our vision is to assist companies to retain, expand and grow their op- erations and employment and attract new business to Berks County. n with surrounding regions, eco- nomic development organiza- tions and the Commonwealth to present the best possible business location case. Most recently, Deb trav- eled to Dallas to attend an IAMC local event. The indus- trial real estate educational event was attended by over 50 people who are in the site selection world as either an industrial real estate corpo- rate director, site selector, or national broker. While there, Deb met with several site selection firms to talk about, you guessed it, the develop- ment and location opportuni- ties in Greater Reading. She shared information about the 7.2 million s/f of indus- trial space which is coming online in Greater Reading in 2018/2019. New land development and building inventory ranges from 42,000 s/f to 1.2 million s/f of industrial and flex space. This inventory means that the Greater Reading market is able to accommodate ex- isting business growth and new business attraction op- portunities. We are placing a proactive focus on advanced manufacturing and distribu- tion/logistics. In addition to the physical inventory, we are aligning our workforce devel- opment and talent pipeline programs to support these industry sectors.
