CPBJ names company #1 general contractor Kinsley receives Excellence in Construction Award fromAssociated Builders and Contractors Y

Receiving a LEED Silver designation by the U.S. Green Building Council , the proj- ect included energy-efficient windows, low-flow plumbing, room occupancy sensors, and a new aluminum, standing- seam roof. This project’s success can be attributed to the detailed sequencing, proactive com- munication and collaboration
of the entire project team. By fast-tracking activities and working overtime, additional scope items caused by unfore- seen conditions were absorbed into the original schedule. Working together, the Roberts Hall renovation was completed on time, within budget, with the highest level of quality and involved no safety violations – helping it achieve this award. “Being nationally recognized for the Roberts Hall project at Bucknell University is a great honor for Kinsley,” said Jan Wagner , vice president at Kinsley. “This acknowledge- ment is due to the outstanding day-to-day efforts of the proj- ect team, including our Super- intendents, Dave Erney and Gerry Rangel , and project manager, Dave Yantis .” The Excellence in Construc- tion awards program is the in- dustry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects, with an Eagle Award presented to the top project in each category. The award honors all construction team mem- bers, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workman- ship, innovation, safety and cost. In other news, Central Penn Business Journal (CPBJ) ranked Kinsley Construction, Inc. as the #1 general contrac- tor in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York counties in Pennsylvania. In 2017, Kinsley earned $259.1 million in local revenue and employed 1,197 workers, help- ing the company earn its rank- ing as the area’s top general contractor. (ABC) for the renovation of Bucknell University’s Roberts Hall. The 61,000 s/f project trans- formed the university’s tradi- tional, four-story dormitory into a LEED-certified , mod- ern residence facility. From December 2015 through Au- gust 2016, Kinsley renovated the space to house 136 stu- dents and made upgrades to
