Jessica Kamphorst Senior Development Advisor & Interim Director of Development Jessica has been a development leader for mission-driven organisations for almost 30 years. Through leadership positions in arts and culture, higher education and research organisations, and now as an independent consultant, Jessica has contributed to the organisations she serves through campaign strategy, analytics, systems and program design, team leadership and coaching and championing the donor experience. Jessica holds an MBA with a specialty in Arts & Media Administration from Schulich School of Business and a BA from McGill University.

Karen Tisch Executive Director

Karen is a long-time arts manager and programmer. Before joining Why Not she served as Managing Director, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival; Programming Director, Images Festival; Executive Director, Ashkenaz Festival; Executive Director, Koffler Centre of the Arts and in grants management roles at Toronto Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts. Karen is a Board member of Red Sky Performance and past president/chair of Toronto Arts Council, A Space Gallery and Toronto Book Awards. She is a graduate of OCAD University and Canada’s National Ballet School.

Haley Depasqua Events & Development Manager

Haley is an experienced Events and Development Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit, hotel and hospitality industries. She is skilled in Event Production, Sales, Marketing and Graphic Design. Haley is a strong fundraising and event management professional with a post-graduate certificate in Fundraising Management & Event Management from Humber College and a BA in International Development and Spanish from Queen’s University. Karishma Bristy Administrative & Development Manager Karishma is the Administrative and Development Manager at Why Not Theatre, where she supports operations, fundraising and community engagement. She holds a BA in Studio Art and a BA and MA in Philosophy, with a research focus on applied ethics. As a conceptual artist, her work is often shaped by feminist philosophy, language and metaphysics.

Sarah Newkirk Production Finance

Sarah is the Finance Director at Why Not Theatre. She completed her Master of Business Administration in Arts and Media at the Schulich School of Business in 1998 and has been bringing her financial skills to arts organisations for over 20 years.

Mary Anderson Production Marketing

Mary has an academic background in Women’s and Gender Studies (BA, MA) and Photography (BFA). She has led and produced a variety of public programs within Toronto’s arts and culture sector, including community arts, curatorial projects, literary events, artist workshops, new media and theatre. Her work has been exhibited at The Image Centre, The Orillia Museum of Art & History, The Latcham Art Centre, The City of Toronto Archives, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and in Demeter Press. Most recently Mary received a certificate in Urban Agriculture from Toronto Metropolitan University.
