“ npHIS IS THE finish ,” said a JL wearied, disillusioned man as he sank into a chair in his hotel room. He couldn’t see his way out o f his predicament. There was just one way—end it all and get out of this gnawing misery. Several times he looked at the Bible on the desk before him. Finally he picked it up and began leafing through the pages. He started read ing. He read just because there was nothing else to do. In a strange way it held his attention. He read on and on. It seemed to be speaking to him in a very per sonal way. “ Could this be the an swer to my dilemma?” He came to a verse that had a personal appeal, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten that whoso ever . . .” Whosoever included him. The words were in his own tongue; He started to read and was captivated. “ Could these words be directed at me?” He believed and found a new source of freedom and hope — new life in Christ. “ But I can’t place Bibles in hotel rooms or go to foreign countries and give Bible or Testaments to needy people.” Yes, you can — by proxy. You can send someone to do this for you. Your prayers and gifts make it possible to deliver the Bibles to places to which you could never go. This is your ministry of personal evangelism as well as theirs. When you pray and give, you become work ers together with God and those who go to present the Word.
