A whole lot of fun with the all new Mazda6
Following the pretty successful introduc- tion of its brand new CX-5 compact SUV, Japanese manufacturer Mazda is now launching a totally redesigned Mazda6 mid-sized sedan. Naturally, it looks like a Mazda, but it does have a bit of the flavour of the CX-5, especially in the front grille. The all-new Mazda6 is slightly bigger than the older model it replaces. As expected, Mazda engineers included the SkyActiv technology in designing the new sedan. This also explains why there is no longer a V-6 engine included in the catalogue. For the time being, this front-wheel-drive car
comes only with a 189-horsepower 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and is available with a six-speed automatic transmission or a six- speedmanual. In a fewmonths’time, Mazda intends to offer a totally new four-cylinder turbodiesel engine as part of the SkyActiv philosophy. The interior of the Mazda6 has also been redone, with everything carefully rethought. Seats are very comfortable and there is more cabin space than ever. This car is aimed at a mature audience looking for a reliable and comfortable sedan.

CHEVROLET SPARK
Chevrolet definitely seems to want in on just about every car category in the market. The company has a good pres- ence with big sedans, great mid-sized cars, compact and sub-compact success stories, sporty coupes, classy exotics, and now the trend continues with a minicar, the Spark. Yes, Chevrolet people were not com- pletely satisfied with the successful Sonic sub-compact, so they went even further with this little car that satisfies city driv- ers. The Spark is not as small as some of Chevy’s mighty city car, the Spark
its competitors, allowing it to seat four people in great comfort. The car still has a 31-cubic-feet cargo area. The Spark comes with a lively 1.2-litre four- cylinder engine that delivers 84 horsepow- er, which is quite enough for city driving. It is available with a standard five-speed manual transmission or an optional four- speed automatic. Naturally, it is a front- wheel drive. As for safety, passengers can count on some ten airbags and enjoy many other modern features.
