Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority is organizing the fourth edition of the Al Dhafra Date Festival and Auction in Madinat Zayed. This event continues the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, the visionary architect of the UAE’s agricultural renaissance, and underscores the wise leadership’s commitment to supporting agriculture and farmers, preserving the nation’s cultural heritage, customs, and traditions, and reinforcing the status of the date palm as a symbol of the nation’s authentic past, a source of present-day prosperity, and a promise for the future. The festival features a variety of heritage-inspired activities and events designed to promote date production and processing, showcase the finest date varieties in support of the nation’s food security strategy, highlight best practices in modern agriculture, and encourage sustainable farming to strengthen this vital sector. مهرجان ومزاد الظفرة للتمور برعايـة سـمو الشـيخ حمـدان بـن زايـد آل نهيـان ممثـل الحاكـم في منطقــة الظفــرة، تنظــم هيئــة أبوظبــي لــلتراث الــدورة الرابعــة مــن مهرجــان ومــزاد الظفــرة للتمــور، في مدينــة زايــد، الــذي يــأتي اســتمرارا لنهــج ومــسيرة مؤســس النهضــة الزراعيــة في الدولـة، المغفـور لـه بـإذن اللـه تعـالى الشـيخ زايـد بـن سـلطان آل نهيـان «طيـب اللـه ثـراه»، وتأكيـدا على دور القيـادة الرشـيدة في دعــم الزراعــة والمــزارعين والمحافظــة على المــوروث والعــادات والتقاليــد وصونهــا، وترســيخ مكانــة النخيــل رمــزا لأصالــة الماضي وخيرا للحــاضر وضمانــة للغــد. ويتضمــن المهرجــان العديــد مــن الفعاليــات والأنشــطة التراثيــة الهادفــة لتشــجيع قطاعــي إنتــاج وتصنيــع التمــور وعــرض أجــود أصنــاف التمــور للمســاهمة في تحقيــق استراتيجيــة الأمــن الغــذائي، وتســليط الضــوء على أفضــل ممارسـات الزراعـة الحديثـة، وتشـجيع الزراعـة المسـتدامة للارتقـاء بهــذا القطــاع المهــم والحيــوي.

إيجاد سوق ومنصة متخصصة لتحفيز أصحاب المزارع لتسويق التمور الإماراتية. • الحفاظ عى الموروث الثقافي والزراعي في الدولة والاحتفاء به. • تنظيم مهرجان عالمي للتمور يضع منطقة الظفرة عى خارطة السياحة العالمية. • تبــادل الخــرات بــين المزارعين مــن كافــة دول العالم حــول أســاليب الزراعــة الحديثة • والعنايــة بشــجرة النخيل. • الحفاظ على الموروث الزراعي في الدولة من خلال إبراز تراث النخيل والتمور في الإمارات. • تعزيــز ثقافــة الزراعــة لــدى المجتمــع عــر التعريــف بأهميــة النخيــل في الــراث المحــي الإمــاراتي. • Tapping into markets and establishing a specialized platform to motivate farm owners to promote Emirati dates. • Preserving and celebrating the country’s cultural and agricultural heritage. • Organizing an international festival for dates that puts Al Dhafra region on the world tourism map. • Transfer of knowledge and exchange of expertise between farmers from all over the world on modern farming methods and palm tree care. شروط وأحكام المسابقة • أن يكــون التمــر مــن الإنتــاج المحــي لدولــة الإمــارات العربيــة المتحــدة .2025 لعــام • أن يكـون التمـر مـن إنتـاج مزرعـة المشـارك الخاصـة مـع إبـراز مسـتندات ملكيــة الأرض الزراعيــة. • لــكل فــرد الحــق في المشــاركة بفئتــن مــن فئــات المســابقة، بالإضافــة إلى شــوط النخبــة المتــاح للجميــع. • 5 ألا تقـل الأصنـاف المـراد المشـاركة بهـا في شـوط النخبـة للتمـور عـن أصنـاف. • قبول المشارك بقرارات لجنة التحكيم. • أداء القسم الخاص بالشوط المراد المشاركة فيه. • 8:00 تسـليم المشـاركات حسـب التواريـخ المحـددة لـكل فئـة مـن السـاعة مسـاءً، ولـن تقبـل أيـة مشـاركات بعـد انقضـاء الوقت 12:00 صباحـا ولغايـة المحدد. • تعود أحقية التصرف بالتمور المشارك بها للجنة المنظمة. • التمــور التــي لم تحصــل عــى مركــز في أي شــوط يتــم إدخالهــا في المــزاد، وتكــون قيمتهــا مــن حــق المشــارك.

• Dates must be locally produced in the UAE in 2025. • Dates must come from the participant’s own farm, with proof of land ownership provided. • Each participant may enter two competition categories, in addition to the Elite Round. • Participants in the Elite Round must submit no fewer than five date varieties. • Participants must accept the decisions of the judging panel. • Participants are required to take the oath specific to the category in which they are competing. • Entries must be submitted on the specified dates for each category between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.; late entries will not be accepted. • The organizing committee shall assume ownership of all submitted dates. • Dates that do not place in any round will be entered into the auction, with their proceeds going to the participant.

• Each entry in the individual rounds must consist of a single date variety. • The minimum quantity for individual round entries is 50 kg per variety. • For the Elite Round, each variety must be no less than 15 kg and should be of commercial nature. • Dates must be free from pests, insects, eggs, larvae, or their residues. • Dates must be free from visible defects. • Dates must be free from any abnormal odors or flavors and free metallic or sandy residues, or blemishes. • Dates must be of appropriate size. • Dates must be free from pesticide or chemical fertilizer residues; winning entries will undergo laboratory testing. • All entries must be submitted in competition-provided boxes, which will be supplied to participants by the organizing committee. • Participants must accept the decisions of the judging panel.

The auction aims to highlight the quality of local and international date productions for all visitors and connoisseurs of premium dates. It also showcases the most distinguished date varieties in the UAE, providing ongoing support to farmers and encouraging them to expand the cultivation of superior varieties, thereby ensuring the sustainability and development of date production.

يمثــل مــزاد التمــور فرصــة لعشــاق التمــور للحصــول على أجــود أنــواع التمــر الإمـاراتي، ويهـدف المـزاد إلى إبـراز جـودة الإنتاجـات المحليـة والدوليـة للتمـور لكافــة الــزوار والمهتــمين بأجــود وأفخــر أنــواع التمــور. كما يســلط المــزاد الضــوء على أبـرز أنـواع التمـور المتميـزة في الإمـارات، بهـدف تقديـم الدعـم المسـتمر لجهــود المــزارعين وتشــجيعهم على التوســع في زراعــة الأصنــاف المتميــزة، لــضمان اســتدامة إنتــاج التمــور وتطويرهــا.

أولا ًً: • ملء الاستمارة الخاصة بالمشارك من خلال التطبيق الخاص بالمهرجان. • اسـتلام الصناديـق المخصصـة للتمـور وتحديـد النوعيـة والكميـة المـراد إدخالهـا في المـزاد. • يقـوم المكتـب بمعاينـة وفحـص التمـور مـن خـال لجنـة مختصـة لتصبـح جاهـزة للعــرض والمزايــدة. • مسـاءً، ولـن تقبـل 12 صباحـا ولغايـة 8 تسـليم المشـاركات في المـزاد مـن السـاعة أي مشـاركة بعـد انقضـاء الوقـت المحدد. • أن تكــون التمــور المقدمــة للمــزاد مــن إنتــاج دولــة الإمــارات العربيــة المتحــدة .2025 لعــام • التمــور التــي لا ترتقــي لمواصفــات جــودة المنتــج يتــم اســتبعادها ولــن يتــم اســتلامها.

Step One: • Complete the participant registration form via the festival’s dedicated application. • Receive the designated date boxes and specify the type and quantity of dates to be entered in the auction. • The office, through a specialized committee, will inspect and evaluate the dates to ensure they are ready for display and bidding. • Submit entries to the auction between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.; late entries will not be accepted. • Dates entered in the auction must be produced in the United Arab Emirates in 2025. • Dates that do not meet quality standards will be rejected and will not be accepted for the auction.

The competition aims to support producers, factory owners, and beekeepers to encourage local honey production. It also provides festival visitors with the opportunity to learn about different varieties of Emirati honey and the nutritional and therapeutic properties of each type. Honey Competition • Participants must submit 2 kg of honey, divided into two samples of identical specifications and quality (one for display and one for chemical analysis). • The containers must be transparent, smooth glass jars with metal lids. • The jars must be cylindrical in shape. • No labels or distinctive marks should be placed on the jars. • The liquid honey jars and their lids must be clean. • Jars must be filled with a slight headspace to ensure honey does not reach the lid.. • The honey must be free of defects, impurities, and crystallization, and should be uniform with a natural color. Conditions for Participation in the Liquid Honey Competition Submission of Honey Competition Samples • Participants from within the UAE: Honey samples should be submitted the same day of the competition from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Through this competition, the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority aims to showcase Emirati heritage with a particular focus on date palms. Participants are invited to present visual stories that capture the beauty of the UAE’s diverse wildlife and marine life, while emphasizing the living presence of date palms in the collective memory of society, alongside the country’s natural marine and terrestrial landscapes. The award is divided into three categories: Category 1: The Date Palm and Dates Photographs that reflect the deep connection between people and the date palm, its fruits, palm groves, and traditional crafts made from palm fronds. Both amateur and professional photographers worldwide are welcome to participate in this category, to highlight the economic, environmental, and cultural Photographs showcasing Al Dhafra’s enchanting sand dunes, diverse environment, and wildlife such as birds (including the falcon), Arabian oryx, gazelles, camels, horses, as well as its springs, plants, fossils, and Al Dhafra’s festivals. Category 3: Marine Life in Al Dhafra Photographs from Al Dhafra’s coastline, featuring its scenic beaches, coral reefs, fishing traditions, sailing boat races, and rich marine biodiversity. Category 2: Wild & Marine Life in Al Dhafra: Al Dhafra boasts charming sand dunes, beautiful beaches and diverse environment, where birds, especially the Arabian Oryx, deer, camels and horses in the Liwa dunes hide around water springs, plants and fossils. The Region’s marine life abounds in coral reefs, fishing stories and sailing boat races. Category 2: Wildlife in Al Dhafra Through this competition, Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, seeks to shed light on the heritage of the Emirates with a special emphasis on date palms by featuring visual stories that highlight the various aspects of the UAE wild and marine life, in addition to focusing on the rich legacy left by the founding fathers, including the natural marine and terrestrial landscapes and eye-catching sights of date palms. The award is divided into two categories: Category 1: Palm Trees & Dates: Images in this category should reflect the human bonds with date palms. Amateur and professional photographers from all over the world are welcome to participate in this category, to highlight the economic, environmental and heritage aspects of date palms.

Participation Guidelines for the Photography Competition • Entries must be submitted exclusively via the official email: aldhafra.dates.photo@aha.gov.ae • Submissions are accepted from 9:00 AM on 25 September 2025 until 12:00 midnight on 8 October 2025 (UAE time). Late entries will not be considered. • Participants may submit a photo series within the competition theme, with a maximum of 5 photos presented as one story in each theme. • A maximum of 3 individual photos may be submitted per category. • All photos must be in JPEG or JPG format, with a minimum size of 5 MB, at least 2000 pixels on one side, and a resolution of no less than 300 dpi. Images must be high quality and suitable for publication. • For shortlisted entries, participants will be required to provide the original photo upon request. • Adding logos, signatures, names, frames, borders, symbols, dates, timestamps, or any other elements to the photos is strictly prohibited. • Advanced edits that create visual tricks, illusions, or alter the original image are strictly prohibited.

شروط المشـاركة في جائزة التصويـر الفوتوغرافي لمهرجـان ومـزاد الظفـرة للتمور • تقـدم الصـور للمسـابقة حصريـا مـن خـال إرسـالها بالبريـد الإلكـروني المخصـص للجائـزة: aldhafra.dates.photo@aha.gov.ae • ، وتســتمر 2025 ســبتمبر 25 صباحــا يــوم 9:00 تُفتــح أبــواب المشــاركة ابتــداء مــن الســاعة (بتوقيــت دولــة الإمــارات العربيــة 2025 أكتوبــر 8 منتصــف الليــل يــوم 12:00 حتــى الســاعة المتحــدة). ولــن يُنظــر في أي مشــاركة تُقــدَّم بعــد انقضــاء المهلــة المحــددة. • صـور 5 يمكـن تقديـم سلسـلة مـن الصـور في محـور المسـابقة وتتـم المشـاركة بحـد أقـى عـى شـكل قصـة في كل محـور. • صور كحد أقصى في كل محور. 3 عدد الصور المسموح بها في المشاركة • ، بجـودة ودقـة عاليتـن، عـى ألا يقـل حجمهـا J‎PG أو J‎PEG يُشـرط أن تكـون الصـور بصيغـة ، dpi 300 بكسـل، بدقـة لا تقـل عـن 2000 ميجابايـت، وألا يقـل طـول أحـد أضلاعهـا عـن 5 عـن مـع ضـان ملاءمتهـا للنـر • بالنســبة للصــور المتأهلــة إلى المرحلــة النهائيــة، يتعــن عــى المشــارك رفــع النســخة الأصليــة عنــد طلبهــا. • يُحظـر إضافـة أي شـعارات أو توقيعـات أو أسـاء أو إطـارات أو حـدود أو رمـوز أو تواريـخ أو توقيـت أو أي علامـات أخـرى مـن قِبـل المشـارك عـى الصـور. • ي ُمُنـع إدخـال أي تعديـات أو مؤثـرات تقنيـة بصريـة تهـدف إلى إضافـة خـدع أو حيـل أو إحـداث تلاعـب يؤثـر في أصـل الصـورة.

• Any photo containing inappropriate or offensive content, including violence or material inconsistent with the public morals, religious values, and cultural traditions of the UAE, will be disqualified. • Any image that violates the above rules will be automatically removed from the competition without further notice. • Participants must be able to provide the original image in RAW format or files from the same series upon request. • Winning photographs will become the property of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, which reserves the right to use them in publications and media related to the competition and the Al Dhafra Dates Festival and Auction. • The judging committee will review and evaluate all entries, with results announced during the 2025 festival and auction.

If you are an amateur or professional painter or belong to any of the different schools of drawing, you certainly seek to reach the largest number of people with your art and creativity to express your thoughts and feelings through the art school you belong to. The drawing competition is organized by Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority in support of all artists living in the UAE to participate using oil or acrylic colors during the Liwa Dates Festival and Auction 2024 in the Al Dhafra regio.

Painting Competition

The Painting Competition, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, supports all artists in the UAE by providing a platform to showcase works created in oil or acrylic during the 2025 Al Dhafra Dates Festival and Auction. The competition allows both amateur and professional painters to share their art and creativity with a wide audience, expressing their ideas through the artistic styles and schools they represent.
