This presentation examines professional advancement across four domains through a portfolio of research conducted at Mount Sinai in New York, New York. • Education: The "Umbrella of Safety"
where the indices B, n, p and γ denote boron dose 10 B(n, α ) 7 Li, fast neutron dose from 1 H(n,n)p, nitrogen dose 14 N(n,p) 14 C and gamma dose, respectively. The boron capture reaction targets D B according to boron biodistribution. The figure shows the BNCT dose distribution with average tumour to healthy tissue boron concentratios and the relative biological weights of dose components. For comparison, the depth doses of protons and photons are plotted.
framework highlights the opportunity to provide safe care for survivors of sexual violence. While RTTs may be proficient
atidentifyingaction-oriented triggers, a recent study showed they are significantly less likely to recognize sensory or environmental triggers within the treatment suite. Addressing this gap is critical as unrecognized triggers can lead to patientre-traumatization, decreased compliance, and compromised treatment accuracy.(1) • Leadership: The formalization of the Advanced Practice Radiation Therapist role has transitioned from 2004 theoretical panels to 2023 clinical implementation across an inpatient care model. • Clinical Practice: Targeted mentorship programs have successfully elevated RTT technical skills. A physician-RTT collaboration, for example, resulted in a 54% reduction in breast imaging rejection rates.(2) • Research: Data-driven studies on inpatient throughput showed that APRT intervention significantly improved efficiency. Research confirms treatment verification completion rose from 80% to 96%, with simulation completion reaching 92%.(3) Speakers support the profession as it enters the next chapter by incorporating VR education and adaptive workflows. Radiation therapists internationally are encouraged to drive collective progress through personal practice, departmental initiatives, and national advocacy. References: 1.Schnur, J. One reason for the increased interest in BNCT is the availability of compact, accelerator-based neutron sources. By March 2026, eight accelerator-based neutron sources have reached the stage of patient treatments out of a total of 28 listed accelerator projects (1). High and selective boron uptake in tumour cells is essential for BNCT. Boronophenylalanine (BPA) and sodium borocaptate have served as main boron delivery agents. Other approaches, like nanoparticles, peptides or antibodies, are being explored preclinically. To date, only one BPA-based carrier has been classified as a drug. It is expected that new boron carriers will enter the market as demand increases. Several clinical trials have reported encouraging outcomes in treating recurrent or infiltrative cancers, such as head and neck cancers, glioblastomas, and high-grade meningiomas. The significance of BNCT is likely to expand in the coming years. References: 1.
