hen The secret that brings our tongues and all our members into subjection to Christ is to yield them to Him to, control. A young girl attracted much attention for her musical ability. Parents were plan ning for her to complete her study abroad, when God said, “ Edna1, I want your life.” She replied, “Yes, Lord.” Again He said, “ Edna, I want to speak to the people of China through you.” She unhesitatingly replied, “Yes, Lord, use me.” In her first letter from China she wrote, “How happy I was the moment I set foot on Chinese soil, because I knew I was just where God wanted me,” Obey God willingly so He lL T EMORY VERSE.—“I f ye love me, -*■ A keep my commandments.”—John 14:15. Approach .— (On the previous Sunday ask the children to bring some flowers to send to the sick ones). Now, last Sunday you will remember, I asked ■you to bring me some flowers, and let us see how many remembered to bring them? Some o f us forgot, didn’t we? You all heard me ask you to bring the flowers, but you did not all bring them. Just hearing me ask .you to bring the flowers did not get the flowers here, did it? What else did you have to do besides hearing me ask you? Yes, you had to do the thing I asked you to do, and because some o f you did what I asked, we have these lovely roses, and we will send them to Jennie who has the measles, and how she will enjoy them, and especially when she knows the class sent them. Now it will not do any harm because you forgot to bring the flowers, but in our lesson today we are going to hear about doing what God’s word says, and then it will make a big difference if we forget, for He says if we love Him, we will do what He asks us to do. Let us thank God for giving us a chance to do things for Him down here on earth. Lesson Story .—Now you did not think

will not need to force us into His will through trial and hardship. The Düke o f Wellington ordered a cer tain gate to his home guarded. An officer gave a small boy the charge. A little later the Duke himself rode up. The boy would not allow him to eijrfer. The Duke declared it was imperative that he enter. The boy was firm. To gain entrance he was forced to tell the boy that he was the Duke. The Duke complimented him and said, “ I f I had an army like you I couid win Waterloo.” What could Christ not do in carrying out His world-wide purpose if we were thus obedient to Him? you were going to teach the lesson this morning, did you? But that is just what you have doner for we have just been finding out it does not do any good just to hear about things if we do not do them, and that is exactly what God tells us in the Bible. He says we must be'the doers o f His word, and not hearers only. In our story God says that is the way He knows whether we really love Him. I f we do what He asks us to do, then He knows we love Him, but if we are just hearers,' and do not do what He asks us to do for Him, He knows that we do not love Him. That is what our Memory Verse tells us. “I f ye love me, keep my commandments” (Explain commandments as God’s words). The thing He has asked us to do in our story today as something we all need to remember. It is a very little member of our body and we could not get along with out it, for it helps us talk and helps us eat and is busy all day long, but it sometimes gets us into lots o f trouble. Its color is red, and we keep it in a little prison, behind two rows o f white bars, and in front o f these bars are two rosy red little lips. Yes, it is our tongue. You all know how quick that little tongue is sometimes to speak cross and angry words, and yes it some times tells stories that are not true. You
