Champlain Township is receiving letters of support from other Ontario municipalities for its resolution calling on the federal government to take further action against U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs against Canadian steel exports to the U.S. The resolution was in response to an appeal from the Canadian Metals Group, owner of Ivaco Rolling Mills in L’Orignal and two other Canadian steel-processing plants. So far Norwich Township, Enniskillen Township, Dubreuilville Township, and Armour Township have sent Champlain Township council letters of support. (Gregg Chamberlain)
