● At least ten (10) years of continuous CUSD service, or ● At least fifteen (15) years of total service to CUSD, or
● At least five (5) years of continuous service to the District and a total of twenty (20) or more years of service credit to a public school district (as verified by CalSTRS/CalPERS, or another state’s verifiable teacher retirement plan/school
employee retirement plan) 6 To receive this bonus, retiring employees must notify the District no later than three (3) 7 months prior to the date of actual retirement. Notification must be in writing and the bonus 8 will be received on the date of actual retirement. 9 5.14 Bilingual Stipend – Members who are identified by the District to use a second 10 language other than English to perform their regular duties shall be paid the Bilingual 11 Stipend at the following levels and prorated by FTE: 12 • Verbal Interactions and Meeting Translation - $150 per month 13 • Verbal Interactions, Meeting and/or Document Translation - $225 per 14 month 15 Bilingual stipends are subject to the following conditions: 16 • The unit member must pass a written test and/or oral language competency 17 test and be designated by the District for such an assignment. The District 18 shall cover the cost of testing up to 2 (two) attempts. 19 • The stipend may be terminated at any time by the District. 20 • The stipend shall be prorated for part-time employees. 21 • The District retains the sole right to determine the number and placement of 22 positions to be paid the bilingual differential. 23 • A member may decline to use a second language and the offer of the 24 bilingual stipend. 25
