ARTICLE VI: HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS 1 The specific dollar amount allocated for all benefits shall be $10,352. Upon mutual 2 agreement between the District and the Association, any funds of the above covered portion 3 of allocation left over shall be utilized as follows: 1) to offset increased cost in health 4 premiums; 2) to offset employee contribution for benefits coverage or; 3) to purchase 5 additional benefits for classified employees. 6 6.1 Group Health Insurance - The District shall on behalf of members of the 7 bargaining unit, contribute toward the premium for family coverage under a group health 8 insurance policy (including a form of pharmaceutical drug coverage). 9 6.1.1 Shared Decision Making/Benefits Committee - The specific coverage 10 and carrier shall be determined by Shared Decision Making/Benefits Committee. 11 The Shared Decision Making/Benefits Committee shall consist of six members of 12 whom two will be elected by Claremont Faculty Association; two elected by 13 California School Employees Association, Claremont Chapter #200; one 14 appointed, or elected, by Claremont Management Association; and one appointed 15 by the District. The Assistant Superintendent of Business Services shall chair the 16 Committee and will only vote in case of a tie. The secretary of the Assistant 17 Superintendent of Business Services shall act as secretary to the Committee. 18 6.1.2 Part-Time Employees - Health and welfare benefits referred to in 19 paragraph 6.1.1 of this Article VI shall be provided by the District on a pro rata 20 basis to members of the bargaining unit whose assignment is less than full-time. 21 The pro rata amount will be determined by multiplying the employee's full-time 22 equivalent employee ratio by the amount of health and welfare benefit allocation 23 provided in paragraph 6.1.1 of Article VI. The premium balance must be paid by 24 the employee by payroll deduction. 25
