Contributions under Section 6.1.5 are to cease upon the

occurrence of any of the following events:

1. The retiree's or spouse’s eligibility to obtain coverage under

the medical plan of another employer;

2. The retiree's failure to maintain the employee's share, if any,

of the cost of additional coverage selected;

3. The retiree becomes eligible for Medicare ; or

4. The retiree's failure to re-enroll during the open enrollment period. The retiree shall be contacted by email and USPS mail at the last known address and notified of this window

period.

5. If a dependent spouse turns 65 or is eligible for Medicare before the member turns 65 or is eligible for Medicare, the dependent spouse shall no longer be eligible for the District

provided group health insurance program.

6.2 Group Dental Insurance – The District shall on behalf of current members of the 16 bargaining unit contribute toward the premium for a group dental insurance policy. 17 6.2.1 Early Retirement 18 For employees hired before July 1, 2014, the District’s contribution for members 19 who retire from District service between the ages of 55 and 65 with 10 year 20 continuous service or 15 years total service or 5 years of continuous service to the 21 District and a total of twenty (20) or more years of service to a public school district 22 (as verified by CalSTRS/CalPERS, or another state’s teacher retirement 23 plan/school employee retirement plan) shall remain current with that of a current 24 bargaining unit member’s premium (pro-rated by FTE at the time of retirement) for 25 the group dental insurance program in which the unit member is enrolled at the time 26 of retirement. 27
