● Independence Day – Observed on the fourth of July or as follows:

⸰If holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the preceding Friday ⸰ If holiday falls on a Sunday , it will be observed on the following Monday

3 The first day of work for school year employees shall be the first student day. CSEA and the 4 District shall meet annually, no later than April of each school year, to negotiate the work year 5 calendars for all Classified unit members. 6 9.2 Pay for Holidays - Every day declared by the President of the United States or the 7 Governor of California as a holiday, pursuant to Education Code 45203 and where the Governor 8 9 has provided for the closing of schools pursuant to Education Code 37220 (sections a-11 and a- 12) shall be a paid holiday for all members of the bargaining unit. 10 9.3 Staff Development Days - On the District's Staff Development Days, classified personnel 11 shall receive regular pay for regular duty hours except that the employee may request and use a 12 vacation day with the concurrence of their supervisor. 13 9.4 Days of Required Duty - Notwithstanding the adoption of separate work schedules for the 14 certificated and classified services, on any school day during which pupils would otherwise have 15 been in attendance but are not and for which certificated personnel receive regular pay, classified 16 personnel shall also receive regular pay whether or not they are required to report for duty that 17 day. 18
