12.7 If CSEA is filing the grievance, the Association shall name the parties in interest. If the 1 grievance is filed based upon a specific group of individuals then the grievance shall identify the 2 classifications and work locations of the parties of interest. 3 12.8 Definitions : 4 12.8.1 Grievance - A claim by the Association or a member of the bargaining unit that 5 there has been a violation of an express provision(s) of this Agreement by which alleged 6 violation the Association or member is adversely effected. The term "grievance" shall 7 also apply to terms and conditions of employment as enumerated in the provisions of this 8 Agreement. 9 12.8.2 Grievant - A grievant is the Association or a District employee in the bargaining 10 unit covered by this Agreement who is filing a grievance. 11 12.8.3 Parties in Interest - The person making the claim and any person or persons 12 who might be required to take action or against whom action might be taken in order to 13 resolve the claim. 14 12.8.4 Immediate Supervisor - An immediate supervisor is the manager or supervisor 15 having the first line jurisdiction over the employee who is filing the grievance. 16 12.8.5 Job Representative – The employee’s representative who is designated to assist 17 the grievant in the grievance processing. 18 12.9 Grievance Resolution 19 Grievances will be processed in accordance with the following steps: 20
