spaces that feel both refined and inviting. In the entryway, two extraordinary heirlooms immediately set the tone—an antique table and mirror dating back to the early 1800s. Originally owned by David’s great-great-grandfather, McKinney Long Cook, a cotton farmer in Edwards, Mississippi, the pieces survived the Civil War and the Battle of Champion Hill, escaping confiscation while many others were taken. Passed carefully through generations, they now greet visitors as living artifacts, grounding the home in history from the moment one steps inside. Just beyond the walls, the home opens to an outdoor retreat designed for both everyday living and easy entertaining. A covered patio with a warm wood ceiling frames a thoughtfully designed pool and raised spa, creating a seamless extension of the interior spaces. Whether hosting family gatherings, quiet evenings by the water, or long weekends outdoors, the backyard reflects the same intentionality found throughout the home—comfortable, classic, and meant to be lived in. The Cook home reflects a belief that the most beautiful spaces are shaped by memory—where craftsmanship, heritage, and thoughtful design come together to tell a story meant to last.
