Packing Essentials & Guidelines
W
hen traveling through South Africa, the key is to pack light, comfortable, and practical – especially if flying between safari regions on light aircraft with limited baggage allowances.
Lightweight, neutral-colored clothing is best for safari, along with a warm layer for cool mornings and evenings. In Cape Town and the Winelands, smart-casual attire is perfect for dining out or exploring the city. Don’t forget essentials such as a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable walking shoes. A light rain jacket, swimwear, and a good camera will enhance your experience. Most lodges offer laundry services, so there’s no need to over pack – leaving room for the treasures you’ll collect along the way.
Insider Tip:
Our favorite shop is the Safari Store - check them out for all available options. Most camps provide insect repellent and shareable binoculars.
