Year 10 Bulletin 15.03.24

A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 10

We are now at a really exciting point in our Year 10s school career. As our Year 11s approach their final GCSE exams, we are starting to recruit our next set of student leaders. Every year students in their final year in the main school, have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities across the school. Not only will we have a Head Student and Deputies, but we will also be appointing our next set of House captains and Prefects. Our student leaders make such a significant contribution to our school community, both leading and supporting at key school events and competitions, ranging from Sports Day to our new Year 7 Induction. These opportunities help our students to develop the skills that will allow them to be successful in future careers. Next week we will be launching the House Captain and Prefect applications with an assembly and students will have the chance to ask questions of the current cohort of student leaders. The applications will be on the google classroom - joining code is 2oqzfd2. I hope that this will be something that you are able to talk about at home to encourage as many students to become involved. Well done to those who are leading the way with the epraise scoreboard this week. Our top three tutor groups are 10SHO, 10PCL and 10SDR. Taking the top spots for most individual points collected this week are Camilla in 10PRE, Alice in 10SHO and Jodie in 10SDR. Keep up the good work!

BOOK OF THE MONTH

“One Day” by David Nicholls

“One Day” by David Nicholls is about Emma and Dexter who meet one night on the 15th of July 1988 but go their separate ways the next day. However, the novel follows both of them and their story together every 15th of July for the next 20 years. The Netflix adaptation of the book has recently been released and if you have enjoyed the show, I would really recommend the book because the book version gives you a unique insight into the story.
