Inspector of Works
Aim
To perform site construction activity within the various Venture(s) undertaken by the organization. To support the Venture in other capacities as directed, ensure delivery at the required quality, on time and on budget. • Professionalism in all aspects of the work in written, verbal manner and in demeanor. • Effective management of the site construction activity to ensure the delivery of these projects on time, on budget and constructed to the required standards and quality. • Demonstrate leadership quality in site coordination with consultants and contractors • Elevate company standards of design specifications and quality where applicable for projects • To review and coordinate all construction activities on site for projects. • To maintain construction programs for projects and control and manage construction budgets. • To ensure construction quality and compliance and oversee and manage site OHS protocols • Coordinate with project manager and consultants to manage the project, not limited to assist in progress, QA/QC, variations/cost controls, safety control, environmental control, and others on site activities • Verification of contractor’s drawing to ensure it complies to statutory requirements and relevant standards • Report any critical and/or major issues on site pertaining to the construction activity by contractor for discussion and solution • Support project manager to monitor, supervise and inspect works and coordinate with consultants for any scheduling impact, QA/QC, identifying possible delays • Support project manager in coordination with consultants’ drawing’s circulation, to ensure the latest drawings are used and any changes addressed • Verification of onsite shop drawings with coordination from consultants to ensure the signed off drawings are used for constructions • Samples verification before procurement and after materials arrive on site to ensure the selected meets the standards or equivalent • Ensure the contractors provide all necessary supporting document prior to site works execution • Sound knowledge of technical construction onsite works; ability to pick up any method statement not being followed by the contractor • Strong documentation controls; documents management and retrieval for shared access by relevant department for reference. Managing and filing of drawings from tendering, construction, approved plans and as-build, not limited to Operation and Maintenance manual, certificates and warranties to ensure the complete documentation of the project are well managed and received • Coordinate with Project Manager for handover from projects to the company’s asset team to take over as part of operational management • Other tasks as directed • Ms. Office (word, excel, power point, outlook, projects), AutoCAD • Any technical knowledge (either Civil & Structural, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Quantity Surveyor) • Promote and adhere to Group policies • Support the venture activities as directed
