As the curtain rose on the 2019 Festival™ presented by Magners, who could predict the stories about to unfold? A week of drama and high emotion, with moments of pure theatre thrown in for good measure, it all began on Day One

PRESTBURY PARK comes alive throughout four unmissable days in March. Nestled in the arms of Cleeve Hill lies one of sport’s greatest amphitheatres – Cheltenham Racecourse, home to The Festival ™ presented by Magners, an exceptional venue renowned for producing fairytale after fairytale, year after year, as sports fans gather in the heart of the Cotswolds to watch the very best horses, trainers, and jockeys in Jump racing take to the biggest stage of them all. On Tuesday 10 March 2020, the gates will open on Day One, and the Roar will be released as we welcome another Four Days of Extraordinary. An event like no other, the countdown for The Festival begins as the gates close from the one before and avid fans reminisce over the iconic and historic moments they have witnessed, all with an anticipation of what is to come over the next 12 months. Unique to Jump racing, the season builds up to this magnificent crescendo, all roads lead to the Home of Jump Racing in March. Routes meticulously planned for horses, jockeys, owners,

even racegoers. Will they be at Festival Trials Day? Is The November Meeting the place to spot your Cheltenham Festival winners? All significant racedays, all with one ending in mind – The Festival. We see the best take on the best, we see old champions challenged by new. To be here any day is extraordinary and to win here any day is extraordinary. As the countdown ends, and the 52 weeks of waiting draw to a close, Tuesday’s card sees the week get off to an absolute flyer. From live music to a shopping experience like no other, racegoers enjoy the ultimate day out. In 2019, the feature race of the day stole the headlines as Irish trainer Gavin Cromwell enjoyed his first ever Cheltenham Festival success with Espoir D’Allen in the Unibet Champion Hurdle. With hot favourite Buveur D’Air falling early on in the race on his bid to enter the history books by winning a hat trick of Champion Hurdles, the race was thrown wide open. Espoir D’Allen and Mark Walsh proved too good for the field and pulled a record-breaking 15 lengths
