The Festival TM | Day Two | 11 March 2020 Presented by Magners

took the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase for the second year running. Under a confident ride by Keith Donoghue, it never looked in doubt for the Gigginstown House Stud star. Owner Michael O’Leary said: “He’s a legend around here, Triumph Hurdle winners tend not to come back, but they certainly don’t come back and win four-mile races for amateurs and then cross-countries. It’s a phenomenal training performance by Gordon Elliott. He wasn’t great as a Novice Chaser but he’s transformed him by changing his routine and sending him cross-country.” Tiger Roll then went on to etch himself into the history books as he became to first horse to win back-to-back Grand Nationals since Red Rum, 45 years ago.

With the racing hitting full speed out on the course, the elegance of Day Two reaches the height of fashion in The Orchard ™ . A new concept for the 2019 Cheltenham Festival, The Jockey Club offered a uniquely themed area hosting a range of luxury brands for racegoers to soak up while enjoying four extraordinary days of racing. John Lewis & Partners opened up its doors for make-up touch-ups and hair tweaks, while Bentley celebrated its centenary across the other side of The Orchard. Magners brought to life ‘Ciderland’, while Nyetimber ensured it had all bases covered in its open-top Routemaster bus bar with English sparkling wine. With a DJ ensuring the party never stopped, The Orchard was the perfect destination to head to celebrate any winnings from earlier on in the day.
