An alumnus of Summer Exhibition 2015, Robert’s career has gone from strength to strength. His work has featured in both Autumn 2015 and Spring 2016 collections, and he now has several sell out editions to his name. With wide demand for artist appearances at galleries across the UK and a rapidly growing collector base, we predict great things for Robert! Artist Statement: “In April 2015 I entered IN:SIGHT and sent Washington Green some samples of some work I’d produced over the previous few months. I’d been following the career of the American artist Josh Keyes; his work features wildlife in surreal settings so I was instantly drawn to him. I was reading an article of his in Juxtapoz magazine where he talked about his work, what’s going on and what was on the rise in the art world. The interviewer asked what Keyes thought would be coming up in the future and he said that anyone making

psychedelic paintings should hold on to their hats. I remember thinking ‘yeah right, if only!’ Only two days later I had a reply from Washington Green. I remember my partner Nicola running out into our garden almost screaming ‘Washington Green have sent an email’ and at that point just hearing back from someone was enough to surprise me, let alone being invited to their Head Offce to discuss my work, future plans etc - especially after all those years trying to get someone even to look at my work. I hadn’t given up but I had come to accept that the status quo of emailing everywhere and being ignored was a normality. I had absolutely no idea what to expect on the train journey down to Washington Green’s Head Offce. Meeting everyone was overwhelming, and to hear that they loved my work blew me away. We had a chat about the upcoming Summer Exhibition and off I went feeling happier and more excited than I thought possible. It occurred to me that if nothing
