ArtBeat - Winter 2022-23

Dear Friends, I hope this holiday season has filled you with warmth and joy as we turn to the year ahead. At the Irvine Fine Arts Center, we are well underway planning for the new year. Preparations for the Studio Arts Festival have begun, and if you are interested in being among the juried selection of artists, information and applications will be available at irvinefinearts.org . The Fine Arts Center galleries currently have on view thematic photographic-based works in the realm of wonder as part of the exhibition In This World , and sculptural and two-dimensional artworks inspired by history and a speculative future in Infinite Timeline . Our youth winter art and culinary camps will be fully engaged in themes of travel, adventure, and the holidays. Our adult instructional courses will offer new programs: Basic Enameling and Bezel Setting (Page 13), and Painting Foundations (Page 12). We continue to build community awareness of the value and function of the arts in Irvine with exhibitions throughout the City including Life on the Base: MCAS El Toro opening January 29 at the Great Park Gallery, and the current Art at City Hall exhibition Old Town Irvine , on view through March 17. Don’t miss your chance to check them out. Spring is right around the corner! Be sure to mark your calendar for February 15 to register for spring and summer camps.

Creatively yours,

Laura Murphy Irvine Fine Arts Center Supervisor
