Instructions for: Badge Press EU
1. Take the Die piece with the two metal pins (this is the Die with two zeros on it), and make sure the two zeros on this Die are in line with each other.
2. Let the two pins split over the two metal bars on the right.
3. Let the hole in the Die fit into the pin of the button press machine. The Die will connect with a magnet inside of the button badge press machine as soon as it is in place.
4. On the base of the machine, you will see a number 1 and a number 2. One of the Dies will also have a number one engraved on it, and the other one a number 2. This way you will know where to insert the Dies.
5. Let's start with Die number 1. Make sure the hole on the Die lines up with the pin on the machine base.
6. Do the same with Die number 2. Place it on the base of the machine in the same way.
7. Use the button badge template available on our online store to design your artwork. Insert your image into the red line, the yellow area is just an indication of where the important visible area of the badge will be, the rest will fold around the badge. Make sure the text is inside the yellow area. Delete the yellow circle at the end.
8. Insert the metal disk, of the size badge you want to press, into the bottom of the cutter. Magnets will hold this disk in place.
9. Use the Allen key to adjust the blade according to the hole in the metal disk. Use your fingers to pull the blade where it needs to be. Make sure the blade doesn ’t scrape against the edges of the metal d isk while cutting, but the blade should still be as close as possible to the edge of the disk.
10. In the end, your print will be about 1-2mm smaller than the mylar. 11. Use the cutting pad when you cut. To cut, press down the lever and let the blade run all around the print to cut it out.
12. To make the badge: In Die 1, you will insert the top rounded part of your button badge. The rounded side facing up.
13. Insert your cut image on top of the rounded badge piece in Die 1, followed by the clear plastic Mylar.
14. Turn the blue base so that Die 1 goes underneath Die 0.
15. Take the pin part of the button badge, make sure the pin is facing down, and place it into Die 2.
16. Now press down on the leaver with Die one still underneath Die 0. The machine will then press the top part of the button, the print, and the mylar all together as one and it will be lifted into Die 1. This means that if you turn the blue table, you won't see the badge for now.
17. Turn the blue base so that Die 2 will now go underneath Die 0, and press again. It will now press everything together and your button will be done.
