2021 Senior Lawrentian

Although House singing did not take place, we did have ‘Battle of the Bands’ where Joe and Demi did the House proud with their version of ‘ Wonderwall ’ by Oasis and winning the award for best vocals too! This was pre-recorded for all to hear and what came across instantly was the time and effort that was placed into the event by all. It sounded amazing! Each year we try to focus on updating the facilities in the House and, this year, our main project was the JCR. This was made possible by a generous donation from a current parent who, along with the support from the Facilities team, has really transformed the room. The boys love having the extra space and it has certainly allowed everyone to integrate further, whether that be playing table tennis or watching television together. Towards the end of the term, we have also repainted a number of rooms to provide a more homely feel and the responses from all the boys has been very positive. We hope

This period also saw us start up our infamous 5K running club on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon that promoted exercise during the lockdown period and also helped us to do very well when it came to Inter-House competitions. Here Binamra took the lead on a number of occasions and even challenged others to run further. Homemade haircuts were common too! The Summer Term was packed with events. We were pleased to raise over £100 for Red Nose Day by selling homemade pizzas made by the Sixth Form (although I’m still astounded as to how much mess was made as a result!). It was also brilliant to see the return of Sports Day. As usual, Tower gave it their all by winning five events that included the 100m & Long Jump (Tishe) 400m & High Jump (Joe McCaffrey), and Triple Jump (Demi Adewole). Notable mention goes to Kim for his amazing effort within the 1500m that kept us on the edge of our seats.

to complete more throughout the summer holiday and into next year, recognising the importance of investing into these projects. Throughout the year, the Chaplain has consistently hosted Christian Union. This is something that attracts a number of students and I am always amazed by how open, honest and respectful everyone is to one another. As a result, I would like to once again thank the Chaplain for the time and effort he has dedicated to this. Finally, as my family and I move onto pastures new at the end of this academic year, it has been an absolute privilege to have been Tower’s Housemaster. We would like to thank everyone from parents, agents and College staff for their support during these last three years; they have helped to develop our community. I wish you all the very best for the future. 
