The grounds teammowand trimeach lawn to perfection and care until they’re a wonderful chartreuse colour which lasts throughout the year. In addition, they prepare and maintain all of the pitches ready for our rugby, football, cricket and athletic teams. The school also hosts a forest school for young children to learn about the importance of the environment alongside wilderness survival. They have the opportunity to learn in calming and fresh surroundings, and are motivated to plant trees, not trample across dedicated areas for plants and much more! The bird boxes sited in beautiful lime and beech trees invite gatherings of sparrows, tits, goldfinches, blackbirds, starlings, a woodpecker and elegant parakeets; which can be watched for hours at a time (though not during lessons!) The pine tree outside Taylor Hall (our theatre) has a communal bench beneath it; mostly used in spring to uplift spirits by watching nature while chatting to friends. During the autumn months the ginkgo biloba tree is stunning. The golden fan-like leaves scattered across the path create the most wholesome feeling. The grounds staff take such pride in their work and that is really highlighted through the magnificent, picturesque grounds.
