and Junior titles. Honours were shared in Kirby with the girls of Courtenay and boys of Cameron amassing the highest points totals. Despite inter-school fixtures being wiped out for the Summer Term, Amelia Lawton still emerged as a promising all-round thrower. Her Junior Girls’ Javelin win for Clifford on Sports Day was sandwiched between a bronze medal in the Shot at the Kent Championships for her club, Invicta East Kent AC, and a silver in the Discus at the Kent Schools’ Championships in June, representing both SLC and the Thanet Schools’ District. At the timeofwriting, a small but enthusiastic group of Kirby House pupils train on the Hill of Doom on Saturday mornings, often joined by members of the Junior School’s STRETCH programme. Meanwhile, I’ve spoken to
several Old Lawrentians about potentially introducing an annual School v OLs Cross Country fixture. Any expressions of interest from staff members towards making up a third team would be warmly received.
