He then trained to become a teacher and gained a PGCE from the University of Cambridge. He is a member of the Geographical Association and has just completed an article for their journal, ‘Teaching Geography’. His article is entitled ‘ Generative Learning’ in the Geography Classroom: Teaching Food Webs ’.

Living in France has helped hone her language skills and she enjoyed immersing herself in both the language and culture. When she resumed her career, Carlie taught briefly at Junior Kings and then at CATS college. She has also trained as an illustrator and enjoys working as an artist alongside her teaching career. Carlie has created commissioned works including murals, portraits, pet portraits and developing her own fine art work.
