close to Christ’s fire. Here he is con fessing his love for the Lord Jesus. Let us learn from Peter that the place of joy and confession of Christ is near Him and far from the world’s fire. From then on Peter was a bright and shining light for Christ.

STORIES OF HYMNS WE LOVE, by Cecelia Margaret Rudin, an ever-popular volume ^since it was first published in 1934, and now in its 13th edition, has added several new Hymn Stories to its featured collection. Our best-loved hymns become more personal and illuminating through the numerous incidents cited, and a more intimate knowledge of the authors’ lives is gained through the experiences that impelled the writing of these songs. Every Christian home should possess a copy. 96 pages, cloth. Price $1.25 John Rudin & Co., Chicago. YOUTHSPIRATION POCKET HYMNAL, com piled by Alfred B. This is an American reprint of the lectures delivered in 1888 in the Divinity School of the University of Dublin, which have been ad mitted by Catholic leaders to be the cleverest modern attack on their position. Logical, authori tative, Scriptural, it is well documented and most convincing. It has been published without any alteration whatever from the original text. 497 pages. Cloth. $3.00. James D. Bales, Searcy, Arkansas. EVERY PASTOR A COUNSELLOR, by Stanley E. Anderson, Th. D. Dr. Anderson states as the purpose of his book, “ to help Christian pastors apply the best of modern techniques in psychiatry, together with the Spirit-empowered Scripture truths, for the healing of men’s minds, souls, and bodies.” This makes for a practical and valuable volume. A good bibliography is included. I ll pages. Cloth. Price $1.50. Van Kampen Press, Wheaton, 111. I am receiving “ The King’s Business” regularly and I am very grateful for it. It brings so many things that are uplifting and encouraging to myself and very helpful in my work here in Wien and other parts of Austria. I want to thank you fo r it and I should be so glad to get the name of the one who subscribed fo r me and pays fo r the magazine. The work among my people is very hard and discouraging. We see very little results, but God knows and no doubt He is working without our know ing; it cannot be that all our labor and prayers should be in vain. Eternity will show us what He has done while we were carrying out the Gospel to the lost. He sees our work, He counts our tears, He hears our supplications. He has promised to hear and answer and He is faithful. That is our only hope for eternity. Thanking you and praying that the Lord may keep on blessing you and your great work fo r Him, Gratefully yours in the Lord, EMMY H. STEYRER T H E K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S

Objects: A large red cardboard cross, a globe o f the world, a piece of paper six feet long and three inches wide, a pair of scissors. (Glue together the ends

of the paper, making a circle, but before doing so, give one end of the paper a half-turn. Place the cross on the pulpit and the world on a table below it. Fasten the scissors to the back of the cross. Begin the lesson with the link hanging from the cross.) Lesson: This link of white paper hanging from the cross reminds me of the life o f an individual who has been saved by accepting Christ as his per sonal Saviour. A fter His death and res urrection, before His ascension, Christ said to His disciples: “ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matt. 28:19, 20). It looks impossible for this circle of paper, representing the life of a Chris tian, to reach the world down on the table. If we could add another link to this paper, it would reach to the world. In the case of the Christian, who is sur rendered to Christ, a link of love is added to this person’s life in order that the world may be reached for Christ. I find a pair of scissors back of the cross with which I will demonstrate how this can be done. (One inch from the side of the circle, begin cutting around the circle. Continue cutting one inch from the edge until you have gone around the circle twice. The result will be a loop with the same circumference of the original, linked to another loop with twice the original circumference.) We now have two links. We will call the large one “ the link o f love.” You will notice that now it easily encircles the globe on the table below. With the love of Christ added to the life of a Christian, that person, obeying the command of Christ, reaches out to a lost world, fulfilling Christ’s command.
