ENHANCING THE LIVES OF THOSE WE TOUCH ®

FRANK VANDERSLOOT

EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Helping People Reach Their Goals—It’s the Reason We Exist!

A person working alone is not all that powerful, just like a drop of water falling from the sky has very little impact when it hits the earth. But combine that single drop of water with millions of others that are moving in the same direction, and you have the force of a tidal wave that wipes out everything in its path. The more successful we are, the more we owe it to others to pay it forward. We need to reach out and help people make appointments, help them make their presentations, and help them advance to the next status.” As I take a step back to look at what has happened with Melaleuca over the past 37 years, I am amazed at the awesome force that is created when people work together toward common goals.

Synergy and unity are very important, powerful concepts. Focus is also important. When everyone moves in one direction, working together to reach common goals, the result is much more than just impressive—it is awesome! When we started Melaleuca, we set out with a clear mission: To enhance the lives of those we touch by helping people reach their goals. SM Our focus has never strayed from that mission. Over the years, millions have joined us. Together, these individuals have created a powerful entity that not only offers life-changing and lifesaving products but also makes a tremendous difference in the financial well-being of tens of thousands of lives. The stories that we hear every day are fantastic, hundreds of stories of lives that have been changed because of Melaleuca products or the financial opportunity—or both! And it is all because of people helping people, working together, and sharing with others.

only inappropriate but entirely contrary to our stated mission. Our mission is to help others reach their goals. As long as there are folks who have not yet met their goals, we have work to do! When our own goals are met or even surpassed, we cannot forget that most of our success is because of the contributions of others. It is my hope that all leaders in Melaleuca—no matter how successful—will never abandon those in their organizations who have not yet reached their goals. The more successful we are, the more we owe it to others to pay it forward. We need to reach out and help people make appointments, help them make their presentations, and help them advance to the next status. I feel thrilled and privileged to be a part of Melaleuca! I appreciate every member of the Melaleuca family who has trusted us with their time and loyalty. I am serious about our mission of enhancing lives. I call on all leaders throughout Melaleuca—especially those with large incomes—to not forget those who create our success. We must continue to invest our time in helping them.

No person, no matter how successful, has accomplished anything entirely alone. Everyone owes their success to countless others. No one can legitimately say, “Look what I did by myself.” But everyone can be proud of what everyone working together is accomplishing. Without question, some have had a much greater impact than others, and for that they should receive a higher reward. But no individual can match the results of a team working together. We have structured our Compensation Plan to give the greatest benefit to those who have helped others the most. It’s a very fun and rewarding concept. Those who help others reach their goals also reach their own goals. Everyone in Melaleuca is on a journey together—each individual contributing in his or her own way. Most are loyal customers who buy superior Melaleuca products month after month and provide the foundation for a multitude of home-based businesses. Others contribute by enrolling new customers now and then. And others are much more serious business builders who are up and at it day after day, contacting, presenting, and assisting. Everyone’s contribution is important. Everyone plays an important role. And everyone reaps a reward in proportion to their contribution. If we take our mission of helping others reach their goals seriously, no matter how successful we are as individuals, we must remember that none of us has accomplished anything by ourselves.

Only after every last person has accomplished everything he or she originally set out to do is our mission complete.

Sincerely,

Since we all owe our success to countless others, when we reach our own goals, to lie back and relax in our success would be not

TODAY I WILL! A mindset for achieving success .

Ever watched a tennis match between two top pros? It’s astounding how fast and accurately these highly trained, highly skilled athletes hit the ball. They can target a spot on the other side of the net with pinpoint accuracy and hit their mark, volley after volley. In fact, in my observation, points in a pro tennis match are hardly ever decided by one player simply mishitting the ball when they are set and ready to take a good swing.

DARRIN JOHNSON Senior VP of Sales @darrinToGo @darrinjohnson1

EXECUTIVE MESSAGES

So how are most points decided? By one player failing to anticipate where their opponent is going to hit the ball. If they miscalculate, move in the wrong direction, or just freeze in place, that’s when the ball gets past them. Conversely, if the player reads their opponent correctly and moves to where the ball will be before it gets there, they’re fully prepared to return the volley—and in position to score a point. Tennis is a game of anticipating where the ball will be and then fully committing to reach that position and hit the ball back across the net. A tennis pro in the flow of the game isn’t thinking too much about winning the match, the set, or even the game. Their focus is on the ball. Where will it be next? What do I need to do in this moment to keep the volley alive?

When we set big goals for ourselves, it can often feel overwhelming to think about everything we need to do to achieve them. However, breaking those goals down into smaller, more manageable tasks can make a big difference. By focusing on what we can do today, we can make progress toward our larger goals, one step at a time. Focusing on Today I Will! tasks helps us commit to acting on those smaller steps. As we shift our focus, we can build momentum toward achieving our bigger goals. This more easily allows us to develop a growth mindset, where we see challenges and setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow rather than as obstacles to our success. By focusing on what we can do in the moment, we can feel a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction each day as we make progress toward our goals. This helps us stay motivated and

committed to our journey of personal development and success. If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re already in that mindset! Take a few minutes to think back to the day you enrolled as a Melaleuca Member. You had been shown a glimpse of the full picture of what Melaleuca could offer. You saw how life-changing Melaleuca’s products, services, and opportunities could be for families like yours. You recognized the difference Melaleuca could make in your own home and family. And you said to yourself, “ Today I will begin changing my life for the better with Melaleuca.” If you also became a Melaleuca Marketing Executive, you said Today I Will! once again. You saw the opportunity to enhance your life and the lives of others by sharing Melaleuca.

SUCCESS CYCLE

Report & Celebrate

Fast Track focuses on consistently completing the Seven Critical Business-Building Activities, which can lead to building life-changing repeat income. A Fast Track begins with a firm commitment and involves following the Success Cycle and staying accountable for your actions daily. Marketing Executives who participate in Fast Track and meet at least five days a week develop three times as many Directors as those who don’t meet daily as a team. Their average check increase is also more than double those who don’t meet consistently! There is immense power in participating in daily team meetings and aligning your activities with the Success Cycle.

Make no mistake, the Kauai trip will be a once-in-a-lifetime trip, one of your favorite memories. But the results of consistent daily action—doing the fundamentals of building a Melaleuca business, strengthening your relationships through effective teamwork, and creating a future full of wellness by supporting each other every step of the way—will be life-changing. Are you coachable? Maximizing your Fast Track success starts with staying accountable. One of the first questions every new Category 2 or 3 should be asked is this: “Are you coachable?” Being coachable means being willing to interact with a team

2 Follow your weekly plan by doing the correct daily activities. 3 Report on your activities daily to your support team and peers—and hold them accountable in turn.

“My daily activity is what I report on, not whether I enrolled four customers.” The results of that daily activity are crucial for setting new goals and making plans for the next day and the next week. Every team member is involved in the reporting—as well as in helping each other set individual and team goals and plans. “With Fast Track,” Corporate Director 4 Mark Atha says, “you have a team leader who’s getting the team members together each week and asking the following: ‘How many calls are we going to make this week? How many appointments are we going to set? How many Melaleuca Overview presentations are we going to do? How many enrollments will we get?’ “And then, on a weekly basis, the team members are working that plan, then coming back to report results and celebrate success. That’s when you know you’ve got business builders engaged in the activities. They’re feeling obligated because they volunteered for the accountability. They decided to plug in to Fast Track.”

and learn from them even as you share your own experience and knowledge. It’s the only mindset that allows a Melaleuca Marketing Executive to consistently grow their business. And yes, part of being coachable is allowing others to hold you accountable. Corporate Director 6 Erin Clark knows that allowing her entire team to hold her accountable for her own efforts helps her team members gain the confidence to duplicate her efforts. “Our approach to accountability opens up a level of authenticity as my team members watch me persevere through challenges,” Erin says, “and it shows them how hard I have to work to build and achieve. It’s not magic; it’s work.”

“Accountability done right ensures your success,” Executive Director 6 Laurie Proskin says. She admits that she doesn’t like to hear the word accountability . “It makes me think of a teacher pointing out that I’m not doing as well as I thought I was,” she says. “But I love the principle of accountability. I have learned that if I set a goal and put the accountability process into action, I will hit that goal! Staying accountable for the right things. “Accountability should be focused on the activity that will give you the results you want,” Laurie adds. “If my goal is to personally enroll four customers this month, what do I need to be doing daily?

Who should you be accountable to?

“Fast Track gives you a framework for goal setting, planning, commitment, and accountability,” says National Director 9 Anthony Cook. “Most importantly, it gives

you a team to work with. The whole time you’re involved in a Fast Track, you’ve got the constant support and encouragement of other committed Melaleuca Marketing Executives. They hold you accountable. You hold them accountable. And you celebrate each success together.”

“The whole time you’re involved in a Fast Track, you’ve got the constant support and encouragement of other committed Melaleuca Marketing Executives. They hold you accountable. You hold them accountable. And you celebrate each success together.”

—National Director 9 Anthony Cook

During a recent Fast Track, Director 7 Mary Hornickel received crucial support from a devoted, caring team. “We have always worked hard building our Melaleuca business,” she explains, “but Fast Track has compelled us to increase activity. At the start of one Fast Track, we worked hard but didn’t initially see the results we wanted—ending the month with zero points.” Mary’s Fast Track team rallied around her, giving her constant encouragement to keep moving toward their common goal and celebrating every win, big or small. With their support and her own determination, Mary continued to consistently do the correct daily activities, including following up with those who had earlier told her no. And her diligence finally began to bear fruit! During the final month of the Fast Track, she enrolled enough customers to give her the requisite Fast Track points and ensure that she and her team would earn the reward. “Fast Track success only comes by encouraging each other and holding each other accountable,” says Executive Director 5 Danny Tore. “Our attitude has

Compensation Plan with the Critical Activity Bonus, and rediscovered the incredible power of helping others reach their goals. No wonder each Marketing Executive who successfully completes a Fast Track sees measurable growth in their business. Team-wide advancements often follow a Fast Track. That’s because everyone is exemplifying the Success Cycle! They’re celebrating win after win, their vision is expanding, and their energy and passion for enhancing the lives of others is sky-high. But perhaps the most important result of a Fast Track is how your team views accountability. Before, newer business builders may have balked at letting themselves be held accountable for their daily activities day after day and week after week. Now they see accountability as

gone from ‘I have to win!’ to ‘I can’t let the team down!’ The emphasis is no longer on what they can get. It’s on making sure they help. They do their part so that nobody else falls.” Fast Track can spur long-term growth. Participating in a Fast Track can be just the thing for you and your team to maximize powerful momentum through the rest of the year. Once this Fast Track has wrapped up, you and your team will have win after win under your belts. You will have learned how to work closely together, power each other past obstacles, and cheer for each other with every accomplishment large or small. You will have honed your skills, increased your leadership capacity, maximized the

Here are Kevin’s tips for running a successful Fast Track. Commit. Set a goal and a time frame, and make sure everyone on the team is firmly committed to meeting daily as a team and following through on their commitments. Challenge another team —even if they’re not in your organization. Set a time frame and a criteria for points, and get going! Challenge several teams. Keep it simple— perhaps a 60-day challenge with one point for an enrollment and five points for developing a Director. Add a social media page where everyone can post their numbers each day.

Luis & Eleonor Navarro CALIFORNIA Building a Bayanihan Business

Maricel’s sister, Senior Director Evangeline Coffelt, encouraged Maricel to attend Convention. “It all began with that Convention,” Luis says. “It was monumental because Convention is what got her excited about getting to work.” Along with Senior Director 6 Peter Sispine and Executive Directors 6 Dennis and Raquel Jacinto, Maricel has given new life to the Navarros’ business and renewed their desire to fulfill their personal mission. “Our biggest goal is to be able to introduce Melaleuca to our brothers and sisters in the Philippines,” Luis says. “This is something that is built for our culture, and they really need it. This is a business that can withstand the test of time.” While Melaleuca provides the Navarros with something they can give back to their countrymen in the Philippines, their business has also given them a lot. “Even when we were not growing, we were still earning an income,” Luis says. “The power of repeat income is real! We will forever be grateful to our friends, our family, everyone on our team, and the Melaleuca Management Team for all the support they’ve provided us over the years.” “And it has given us the chance to spend more time with family,” Eleonor adds. “I was able to be by my mom during her last few hours. When my daughter was in the hospital, I was there with her. And I am helping my sister and my niece after my niece got into a car accident. That has been such a blessing.” MH

In their nearly 15 years with Melaleuca, Luis and Eleonor have experienced a number of ups and downs, but through it all one thing has been constant. “The customers stay,” Luis explains. “Melaleuca is built on real products that people want. You’re never alone in the business because the customers stay.” Even as they saw leaders around them slow down and even stop building, the Navarros never gave up. Their Filipino culture instilled in them a Bayanihan spirit that taught them that a community working together to help each other can accomplish incredible, even seemingly impossible, things. They saw that spirit reflected in the Melaleuca Mission Statement and knew that great things still lay ahead. “At one point, our business really slowed down, but we didn’t stop working,” Eleonor says. “We knew Melaleuca was still doable. When you put the Mission Statement into your heart, you won’t give up.” The Navarros found a new spark of growth not in one of their personal enrollees but in a leader three generations removed from them—Executive Director Maricel Meade. “It’s so important to develop relationships throughout your organization,” Eleonor says. “When you are willing to help anyone who needs it, it eventually comes back to you.”

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 5 NEW ADVANCEMENTS

Ron Lyons CALIFORNIA A Deeper Sense of Purpose

With Melaleuca, Ron says, he’s connecting with people who have similar values and helping them achieve their goals. His most recent advancement came as he helped a friend prepare for retirement and move to Florida while building a Melaleuca business. Ron has helped other team members build businesses that have enabled them to put their children in private schools, pay off debts, and improve their lives. And Ron has also learned that this kind of benevolence in Melaleuca isn't limited to just benefiting his own organization. “I met Executive Director 6 Gigi Moldovan at Leadership Quest, and he had built a business in Australia and Canada,” Ron says. “We had him join some of our team trainings to talk about building an international business. Then later, I went on a three-way call with one of his leaders to help him enroll someone with a background similar to mine. Obviously, we don’t get any financial benefit for doing that for each other. That’s just the culture at Melaleuca.” With Melaleuca, Ron has found something he’s never seen before: selfless leaders lifting one another through a desire to fulfill a mission of helping people reach their goals. And just as his parents left a legacy of meaning and purpose for him, he’s hoping to pass on Melaleuca’s benevolent culture to the next generation of his family. “The legacy I’m leaving for my daughter—it’s not just about money,” he says. “To have something like Melaleuca where I can make a positive impact—it’s like a breath of fresh air. And to have it be multigenerational, that’s almost unheard of.” MS

Ron Lyons grew up in Niger, West Africa. His father, a missionary dentist and minister, built a dental clinic, provided free dental work, and mentored local pastors. Ron’s mother taught women how to read, write, cook, and sew. “They helped thousands of people,” Ron says. “And I experienced living in a third-world country. I think every single kid needs to spend three months in a third-world country so they can see how even the worst slums here are better than how people live in many other countries.” Years later, his experience as a youth in Africa tugged at his conscience. Ron wasn’t satisfied by the positions he held in corporate America. He’d worked hard and was earning a satisfying income. He’d even mentored a few people along the way and helped them succeed. But he wanted to do something that connected him with a deeper sense of purpose and his innate desire to help others. “I was an executive chef and general manager, and then I went into the digital marketing space,” he says. “But I didn’t have a deep purpose. It wasn’t until I came to Melaleuca that I really found that sense of purpose.”

“I love helping moms be able to contribute to their household income,” she says. “They may not have had their own income before, but now they can give more support to their spouses and, in some cases, even help out their families living in the Philippines. When they put in the effort to build their Melaleuca businesses, they’re able to do so much more for their loved ones and everyone around them.” Leonila attended Convention 2022 and especially remembers the energy and passion for enhancing lives that she felt as she mingled with the thousands of other Marketing Executives attending the event. She brought that energy home with her and went to work. It’s no surprise then that the Renfrows are returning to Convention 2023 having advanced to Executive Director in October 2022 and Executive Director 3 in March 2023! It’s even more exciting that they’ll be accompanied by many of their team members, some of whom have also advanced recently in the Senior Director and Director ranks. This will be a particular treat; Convention will be the first time Leonila and Jason get to meet some of them in person! Afterward, they’ll return home, their vision refreshed, their commitment to reaching their goals renewed, and go back to work. They know this is still just the beginning of their Melaleuca journey, and there are so many more lives they can bless with the wellness they’ve found here. “I’m so thankful that we found Melaleuca,” Leonila says. “We’re building a better future together.” JC

Leonila Renfrow is Filipino, and many of the customers and Marketing Executives in her organization are Filipino as well! When she’s able to talk with others in her native Tagalog, Leonila can swiftly break through barriers of communication and develop comfortable, fruitful relationships with them. “We can say so much more to each other,” she laughs. “But of course we share much more than just our language. Many of us in our organization have had similar life experiences. We have similar goals and dreams. Melaleuca enhances all of our lives.” In particular, the Renfrows love helping full-time moms change their lives by converting the products in their homes. They show them how to take advantage of the unique opportunity to build a repeat income by referring others to shop for the hundreds of wellness products and services Melaleuca places at their fingertips. Time and again, Leonila has seen Melaleuca’s incredible Compensation Plan—especially the Critical Activity Bonus— make a significant impact in the lives of her team members. That means everything to her.

Tresha Rodriguez & Anthony Bivins ARIZONA Desire Rules the World

Tresha’s business kept growing steadily in spite of the challenges, and one key reason, she says, was that she had the right leaders on her team. For her, building a business isn’t just about enrolling customers and business partners; it’s about finding positive, upbeat team members who will keep working and supporting each other no matter what life throws at them. “It’s very important that you link arms with people you want to live life with,” she says, "people like Executive Director 4 Shannon Kubin, Senior Director 7 Kayla LaBorde, Senior Director Jodi Crumbley, Director 6 Elizabeth Bascom, and Director 3 Missy Palmieri. We just work together diligently and help each other through our challenges. Without my accountability team, I wouldn’t be advancing. They’ve been my backbone all the way. Building a Melaleuca business really teaches you the meaning of teamwork.” Tresha is more optimistic than ever about the future of her Melaleuca business. She knows that advancements won’t come every month and that they don’t just appear out of thin air. But she also knows that if she consistently does the things that matter, the results will come sooner or later. “I don’t regret that it’s taken this long,” she says. “In this business, you get out of it what you put into it. Desire rules the world!” MS

Tresha Rodriguez spent the majority of her career as a realtor in New York City. She was used to boarding a plane or a train at the drop of a hat to go close a deal. But then she decided to slow things down and move out west to be closer to family. And not long after she arrived in Arizona, she got a phone call from her brother, Executive Director 9 David Nino Rodriguez, about Melaleuca. In what seemed like an instant, her whole world changed. “I can literally take my laptop out and have my business at my fingertips,” she says. “My family is everything to me, and with Melaleuca, I can do the things that are meaningful to me. This is a beautiful business, and it’s amazing to see the people and resources we have to help us succeed.” In her first 10 months, Tresha advanced to Executive Director 2. She then hit a slower growth period that put Executive Director 3 out of reach for more than a year. Undeterred, she kept her effort consistent. “I was really, really working for it,” she says. “There have been some moments of hardship, and it’s been a bit of a roller coaster. But my team and I just kept forging ahead and linking arms and staying positive. You just have to put your head down and do the Seven Critical Business-Building Activities.”

Jessie & Andrew Trudeau FLORIDA Who Needs a Lifeboat?

With that focus, Jessie is more fulfilled than ever. She loves helping others, and she’s growing her business and qualifying for bonuses. One of her passions in business has always been to have her team and her friends win right along with her. So when Jessie got started with Melaleuca, her biggest question was if her friends could win with her. In an MLM culture she was involved with years ago, that never happened. But in the two and a half years that she’s been here, she’s seen that Melaleuca is a vehicle that can help anyone reach their own personal goals. “Nobody gets hurt here,” she says. “With the Melaleuca Compensation Plan, everybody can win. You don’t need a big team to start. You don’t need special skills or a specific background. Anyone can come here and help their friends shop and win here.” With her new and growing team, Jessie reminds herself and her team to keep things simple and focus on the Seven Critical Business-Building Activities. “Sometimes people like to overcomplicate things,” she says. “Just stick to the basics. Literally share the shopping club with your friends. We have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. We have the best customer service team in our back pocket. Be a good friend. Follow up with others. Melaleuca is the lifeboat that so many need!” LH

Melaleuca has been a lifeboat for Jessie and Andrew Trudeau. And they’re extremely passionate about sharing it with others. “Prior to finding Melaleuca, I felt like I was in a boat that had holes in it,” Jessie says. “I was constantly bailing out water trying to stay afloat. I feel like I was given a lifeboat when I was introduced to Melaleuca. And now I just want to share this lifeboat with everyone else.” Melaleuca’s new Critical Activity Bonus has helped Jessie share that lifeboat more. Because of the focus the bonus brings, she’s enhancing more lives than ever before. It’s also growing her business and repeat income. “Before, I was putting all my time into helping the same team members,” Jessie explains. “Now I am always thinking of who I can help next. Who can I share the lifeboat of Melaleuca with? It has really changed my mindset. I am always trying to find new Directors and more customers to help.”

security in the midst of all the uncertainty we see in the world. It allows me to have savings, invest, and sleep well at night.” Besides the great personal benefits that Brayan finds at Melaleuca, he feels the joy of sharing the gift of wellness with other people. To him, the opportunity to make a positive impact on others is one of the most rewarding experiences one can have. “I particularly love working with people—seeing them put their minds to something, reach their goals, and start to believe more in themselves,” Brayan explains. “It’s so fulfilling to know that I’ve contributed to enhancing someone’s life. It’s so gratifying to be able to help others make their lives a little better.” After this achievement, Brayan looks ahead with great anticipation. He knows that he still has a long way to go, but he also knows that each step is an adventure and a chance to learn, grow, and reach new heights. “What drives me is discovering my full potential—seeing how far I can go,” Brayan says. “It’s exciting to know that the only limits we have are the ones that we set ourselves, that the more I grow in this business, the greater the impact it can have on me and on other people’s lives.” SV

Brayan Garcia-Mendoza understands that building a Melaleuca business is not a matter of speed but of persistence. For that reason, he attributes his advancement to the fact that he’s always moving forward, focusing on the right activities. “Every advancement reflects tenacity, but I believe this one in particular also has a lot to do with focusing on my personal activity and with taking responsibility to make things happen,” Brayan says. “There’s a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. that I love: ‘If you can’t fly, run; if you can’t run, walk; if you can’t walk, crawl; but by all means keep moving.’ I’m not going fast, but I’ve never stopped. I’ve been in constant motion.” As he reflects on the many years he’s been with Melaleuca, Brayan is grateful for the strong influence that the company has had on him. “Melaleuca has made a huge contribution in all areas of my life,” he says. “For example, it’s helped me enjoy a healthy, vibrant life; it has helped me grow as a person and as a leader; it has furthered my professional development; and lastly, it’s helped me financially. establish the discipline to master the skill set. When you step away from the outcomes, the judgments, and the comparisons— when you stop mistaking lessons learned for failure—and just focus on the Critical Activities and the skill set, then you find yourself on the path to success.” Shanna’s determination and commitment to sticking to the basics is reflected throughout her organization. “I’m just leveraging the tools that Melaleuca has in place for us,” she explains. “I like to keep things really simple and duplicable. I focus on the things I can control, like the Critical Activity Bonus. I love that I can use that to create additional earnings each month by doing the activities that I should be doing anyway and then helping others to do the same.” Looking back, Shanna is grateful for how her life has changed since she started building a Melaleuca business. She’s thrilled with the time flexibility that her business provides, along with an increasing repeat income that has become a great supplement to what her husband, Evan, earns as a helicopter pilot. She loves the sense of security they enjoy as well as the chance to live life on their own terms. “My Melaleuca income has been everything,” Shanna says. “It provides financial peace and options, and it allows us to create a bigger financial margin. I also love that I have the freedom to be with my family whenever I want to be. Melaleuca means freedom in so many ways. It has created freedom in every sense of the word.” SV

To Shanna Kelty, the road to success with Melaleuca is clear and simple: “There are zero shortcuts in this business,” she says. “Just stick to the Critical Activities and stay consistent.” As Shanna and her team focus on the small, daily activities that bring results, they continue to build a thriving organization that’s enhancing more and more lives. “It’s often the mundane activities that make the difference,” she says, “but they don’t seem important in the moment, so they are easy to skip—things like adding names to your contact list, making approaches, working on social media, engaging with people. It’s the simple activities done consistently over time that move the needle.” One of the ways Shanna encourages consistency on her team is by building belief. She works hard to help others get the full vision of what they can achieve with Melaleuca and develop the discipline to follow through when life gets in the way. “We focus on building self-discipline first because that’s the foundation for consistency,” Shanna says. “There’s always going to be something else to balance, so you have to find routines, stack habits, and grow your mind. learn anything if I were), but I am the homeroom mom, the lunch supervisor, and even a substitute teacher at my kids’ school. I get to see my kids often and be a part of their education.” The key to all of this, of course, is her Melaleuca business. Lauren builds her business when her kids are at school or late in the evening when they’ve gone to bed. When she does have to miss an occasional event, it’s an exception rather than a common occurrence. Last month, the full blessing of Lauren’s time freedom became even more apparent as she dealt with health issues and the very unexpected death of her brother-in-law. “I wasn’t able to enroll the eight customers I usually enroll every month,” she says. “But we still had a lot of momentum. Everyone in my business kept working toward their goals, and that’s where this advancement came from.” Lauren says it’s a gift that her Melaleuca business gives her the flexibility to be there for her family when they need her. “If you ask my kids what I do for work, they probably have no idea,” she says. “There will come a time when they know that their mom works, but right now, they just know that I’m their mom and that I’m present for them. MS

When Lauren Murphy was growing up, her mother would drop her off at a school program hours before classes began. At the end of the day, her mom would return to pick her up after most of the other kids had gone home. Lauren's mom wasn't neglectful; she was doing the best she could do given the demands of her career. Summers brought more of the same: Lauren would be sent off to summer camp, but she never knew any different. “My mom worked full time, and I don’t have any negative feelings about that,” Lauren says. “But my mom does. She tells me, ‘I would’ve done anything to be with my kids. You only get 18 years with them, and those years go by fast.’” Lauren doesn’t want to guilt-trip moms who have to go to the office every day; in fact, she used to be one of them. But for mothers who want the flexibility to be there for their kids and also provide an income, she wants them to know that it’s possible to have both. “Not only do I now make an income that exceeds what I made in corporate America,” she says, “but I also have the freedom to be and do what I want for my family. I’m the mom who never wants my kids to leave. I’m not a homeschool mom (nobody would
