EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS 2 NEW ADVANCEMENTS

Paolo & Faye Torres ONTARIO Giving Up Is Not in Our Vocabulary

Abundio “Abundance” and Gina Arreza advanced from Director 7 to Senior Director 2. “I’m just so very proud of them,” Faye says. “They definitely deserve it because they have all been working so hard.” When it comes to helping others succeed, both Faye and Paolo agree that Strategy Sessions are critical. But their Strategy Sessions haven’t always been as successful as they are now. “Before we attended Road to Executive Director, we often held group Strategy Sessions,” Faye explains. “Afterward, we learned that one-on-one Strategy Sessions are more effective.” Now they see Strategy Sessions not as a single event but as an ongoing process. “The first step is all about them,” Faye says. “This is where you get to know them and learn about their why . In this step you don’t do a lot of talking; you do a lot of listening and letting them speak.” “The second part is like a ribbon-cutting ceremony,” Faye continues. “It’s where we officially launch their business and begin making approaches and teaching them about different kinds of approaches.” “And really, the Strategy Session is a never-ending process,” Paolo adds. “You continue to check in with them, and then everyone learns along the way. You establish a real connection with them, and then you aren’t just their enroller, you are their friend, and you’re genuinely there to help. It’s so exciting to see them succeed. That’s the best part. Your own advancement is just a side effect.” MH

This is the second month in a row that Paolo and Faye have advanced. While their daily activities haven’t changed, there has been a shift in their focus. “We really looked at those who originally set a goal to build a business,” Faye says. “We reached out to those who told us they were a Category 2 or 3 but who haven’t been very active in their business for the last few months.” Paolo and Faye settled on a simple approach. “We just reminded them that we are here for them,” Faye says. “We reminded them of their initial desire to build a Melaleuca business and asked what we could do to help them achieve that goal.” “We told them that we weren’t giving up on them,” Paolo adds. “Giving up isn’t in our vocabulary. I love talking to our team and giving them hope and confidence. When you’re done you really feel like you’ve accomplished something.” That genuine concern and willingness to help have made a real impact, and Faye and Paolo are seeing leaders on their team advance again after months of inactivity. Other leaders have experienced multiple advancements this month. Helen Dilag advanced from Director 8 to Senior Director 3, and
