Generators are unloaded from Melaleuca’s jet in Naples, Florida, to provide relief for victims of Hurricane Ian.
With a generator, hurricane victims were able to cool their Florida homes, refrigerate food, combat the mildew-inducing conditions, and more.
Running to the Rescue In October 2022, immediately after Hurricane Ian devastated southwest Florida, the Melaleuca Foundation sprang into action! Taking charge of the relief effort, Melaleuca Executive Chairman Frank VanderSloot filled the corporate jet with 34 generators, power strips, gas cans, and 1,000 bottles of Sol-U-Mel ® 3-in-1 Cleaner , which was exactly what was needed. Because our response was organized so quickly, the Melaleuca plane was one of the first private humanitarian flights into Naples! We also donated healthy snacks to nourish those taking needed refuge in American Red Cross shelters. We gave personal
hygiene and cleaning products to support community drives. And we paid for a semitruck to haul bottled water to stranded families on the island of Cape Coral.
Honoring Our Heroes Recently, Melaleuca orchestrated a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Washington, DC, for eight deserving US war veterans. Dubbed the Veterans Appreciation Flight, Frank personally served as host for a visit that was truly unforgettable. Traveling on the company’s jet, the group toured many of America’s most hallowed sites, including Arlington National Cemetery, the
