THREE LIVES & COMPANY A cosy “corner bookshop” that first opened its doors way back in 1968, stands on the corner of West 10 th Street and Waverly Place. A focal point of social trends since its emergence, Three Lives & Company regularly hosts literary evenings featuring re- nowned writers. It has continued to maintain the spirit of the 1960s’ hippie move- ment and social liberation era, which has led many to consider that this particular bookshop, which has proved resilient to the general gentrification of this iconic Man- hattan neighbourhood, testifies to the ceaselessness of the spirit of rebellion.
