TURKISH AIRLINES AND AIR SER- BIA HAVE agreed to further explo- re ways to deepen their commer- cial cooperation, possibly leading to a joint venture that would ena- ble the two companies to offer mo- re competitive and affordable flights between Turkey and Serbia, impro- ve the quality of services currently offered and expand their offer and benefits for all passengers. As part of this expansion of co- operation, Air Serbia introduced ad- ditional flights along the Belgra- de-Istanbul route from July, with 10 AS flights a week now opera- ting between Belgrade and Istanbul, while Turkish Airlines has deployed wide-body aircraft for this route twi- ce a week. Within the scope of the agreed MoU, the two parties are ne-

gotiating the boosting of existing cooperation in terms of codesha- re flights, cargo transports and a Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP), while also developing cooperation alternatives on passenger lounges in their networks. “We are pleased to further strengthen our good relations and cooperation with Turkish Airlines. It is our great pleasure to announce that Air Serbia and Turkish Airlines will continue to look for new commercial opportunities to create efficient and mutually beneficial relationships, while considering the option of joi- ning forces to achieve better conne- ctivity and improving the offer for our customers through a possible joint venture on services between Serbia and Turkey. In this way, we

are contributing to the further im- provement of relations between our two states, in the interest of users and communities in both countries,” stated Air Serbia CEO Jiří Marek. Also commenting on the MoU, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi sa- id: “When we consider the global network today, we see how impor- tant partnership development is in the global aviation industry. Increa- sing bilateral relations between our countries and improving coopera- tion through our networks are es- sential for us, especially after the pandemic. In this regard, we are de- lighted to sign this MoU with Air Ser- bia to explore enhanced coopera- tion opportunities and negotiate further to expand our existing par- tnership. We would like to thank Mr Jiří Marek and his team, on this oc- casion, for their continuous support to our common works that will furt- her contribute to improving relations between our airlines, countries and communities.” Joint flights offer quick and pra- ctical connections for passen- gers travelling from Istanbul - Tur- key’s biggest city and an important air traffic hub for the region - to Bel- grade and onward, but also for pa- ssengers travelling from the Ser- bian capital to Istanbul and onward. Additionally, Air Serbia has also inc- luded its JU code on flights of Tur- kish Airlines subsidiary AnadoluJet between the Turkish capital of Anka- ra and Belgrade. Turkish Airlines has simultaneously added its TK code to Air Serbia flights between Niš and Istanbul, as well as between Kraljevo and Istanbul, thus offering passen- gers on these flights access to Turki- sh Airlines’ global network.
