Practice your interview technique. Use ShortlistMe to simulate real interview situations and get valuable feedback on your performance.

Attend careers events and webinars. Don't be afraid to reach out to speakers you have found interesting, or people in your network, you never know where opportunities may come from.

Take breaks! It's important job searching doesn't consume every part of your life. Take breaks and have structure to your days, break it up with activities you enjoy.

Make sure you tailor your CV and cover letter to the job description - we know it's tedious, but your chances of success are far higher!

Don't be put off if you don't hit every single mark on the job description, it is often unlikely that person exists!

Keep a record of what you have applied for and when. There is nothing worse than taking a phone call and not knowing which company, or job you have applied for.

Narrow your search criteria - don't just scroll. Think about location, your salary expectations, business field etc. Write down what is most important to you and target jobs that match up.

If there is a company you are interested in don't be afraid to contact them, just because there isn't a live job vacancy, it doesn't mean the door is closed.

Always research the company you are applying for. Check out their values, do they align with yours? Drop in any insights you pick up about the company throughout your application.

Don't dwell on rejection use it as an opportunity for growth. Always ask for feedback and use it constructively to help your next application.

Stay motivated - Don't lose hope or sight of the end goal. It will be worth it when you get that 'yes'.

The SOM Employability team were a great help last year when I found myself with all the qualifications but no work.
